Sergey Bobrovsky: biography and personal life

Sergei Bobrovsky was born in Novokuznetsk on September 20, 1988. Seryozha's parents are in no way connected with professional sports (his father worked for a long time at the mine and his mother at the metallurgical plant), but they always liked to participate in various sporting events.

Hockey school

Sergei from the very early years was an energetic child, and therefore the parents had no doubts that their child would be engaged in any kind of sport. That's why it was decided to give Seryozha a school with a sporting bias, where the students not only learned the basics of science, but also seriously engaged in hockey. From this educational institution started in due time such famous hockey players as Dmitry Orlov, Sergey Zinoviev and Maxim Kitsyn. As Alexei Kitsyn recalls, Bobrovsky's first coach, that year about a hundred people got into the hockey class, so he noticed Sergei only a couple of months after the start of training. Bobrovsky grasped everything literally on the fly, he quickly learned to ride and even then his leadership qualities were noticeable .

Career career

Sergei Bobrovsky - hockey player, who, for sure, could be a good defender or attacker. However, fate decreed otherwise. When Seryozha studied in the first grade, the goalkeeper of the team fell seriously ill and, not knowing who to replace him, the coach asked the volunteers. Bobrovsky expressed a desire, which predetermined his future.

In the life of a very young boy, he took first place in hockey. Sergei Bobrovsky thanks to the support and help of his parents, who took their son very seriously, continued to pursue this sport after graduation.

For the team "Metallurg"

Bobrovsky Sergey became a pupil of the hockey team "Metallurg" in Novokuznetsk. In the first team he debuted at the age of eighteen (in the 2006-2007 season), successfully winning several matches. In the following season, Sergei went on the ice much more often, showing the team and fans their skills. However, this did not help Metallurg improve the statistics of the games, and the regress of the team continued. The defense of the outsider's gate is a matter of course languid and unpromising, but thanks to this, Bobrovsky quickly gained experience. For "Metallurg" Sergei played until 2010, until the expiration date of his contract.

Start in the NHL

In May 2010, Sergey Bobrovsky, whose biography is interesting and fascinating, signed a three-year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers team. Peter Lavioletta, mentor of the Flyers, decided to put Bobrovsky in the opening match of the season, in a game with Pittsburgh. The Russian justified all hopes. Star attack of the hosts was unsuccessful. Sergei successfully repelled about 30 shots in his own goal and brought such an important victory for the team.

In 14 matches the young hockey player won 11 wins, thanks to which he was recognized as the best rookie of the month. However, the lack of experience all the same made itself felt, and in the playoffs Bobrovsky played not very well.

In the summer of 2011, Philadelphia signed a multi-million dollar deal with Ilya Bryzgalov, the Russian goalkeeper. As a result, the main team left two goalkeepers - Bobrovsky and Bryzgalov. However, more often it was Ilya who went out on the ice, and Sergei sat out on the bench. So, from 14 matches he took part only in 4.

Columbus Blue Jackets

In the summer of 2012 Bobrovsky Sergey, by decision of the coaching staff, became a player "Columbus Blue Jackets" - a team for which getting into the playoffs seemed an incredible task. By winter of 2013, the Russian legionnaire became the first goalkeeper in his team. Thanks to him, the team spent an amazing period of time without defeats. For a short time Bobrovsky, whose game was just phenomenal, became a real star of hockey.

In 38 matches, which he held on the ice, was won 21 wins, with 4 matches were played "to zero." Sergei Bobrovsky, in fact, is a real hero of the Continental Hockey League of the season 2012/2013, one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Playing in the national team

For the Russian national team Bobrovsky debuts in 2006 for the World Cup among juniors, where the team took the fifth place. In the summer of 2007, at the "Super Series-2007" the Russians in the confrontation of the youth teams were defeated. At this tournament Sergei took part in half of the matches. In 2008, at the World Cup among young people, Sergey Bobrovsky was the main goalkeeper of the national team. Russia performed very well and became a bronze medalist.

In 2010, Sergei was declared in the national team at the 2010 World Cup. Vyacheslav Bykov, the main coach of the team, decided to select hockey players without NHL players and athletes who continued the battles for the Gagarin Cup to participate in the national team. Among these reservists was Bobrovsky, who played in a draw with Italy.

In 2012, Sergei played for the Russian team at the Karjala Cup. Despite the fact that Bobrovsky successfully held the season of games in 2012/2013, Varlamov and Bryzgalov were invited to the national team in the 2013 World Cup.

Sergei in 2014 was declared in the hockey team for the Olympics in Sochi, but the performances of the team can be called a failure. Rehabilitated in the eyes of the coach and fans hockey players, among whom was Sergei Bobrovsky, were able in 2014, having won the honorary title of world champions.

Personal life

A young and successful athlete is married. Olga Dorokhova and Sergei Bobrovsky met at the ski resort Sheregesh, began to meet and soon realized that they were created for each other. August 16, 2011, a wedding ceremony took place, the only witnesses were parents. Sergey Bobrovsky is a talented young hockey player who has repeatedly brought victory to his team. The game of the goalkeeper causes not only the jubilation of the fans, but also the interest of foreign coaches.
