To prepare a traditional Russian snack, prepare such products:

  • White cabbage - 2 kg;
  • Carrots large - 2 pieces;
  • Cranberry fresh or frozen - 300 g;
  • Salt of stone - 100 gr.

Description of the cooking process

Cut cabbage with shredder or knife and fold into a large bowl. Pour the vegetable with salt. Its amount can vary according to your taste (approximately 100 gr). Rub the vegetable mass with your hands and leave to infuse. Add the grated carrot and mix. Put the billet in a saucepan, pound it, cover with a plate and put oppression from above. Leave the cabbage for about five days, periodically removing the foam from its surface. After this time, remove the pressure, pierce the workpiece in several places with a wooden skewer. This action promotes the release of bitterness from the product during fermentation. Then try cabbage to taste. If it is still not acidic enough, then leave it to sour for a couple of days. In the finished vegetable mass, add cranberry berries, mix and spread over clean sterile jars. Cover the containers with lids and store in a cool place. A few days later, the workpiece will acquire a beautiful pink color, and from that time it can be tried. It's so easy and quick to prepare cabbage with cranberries. For the winter, this product can be left clogging the container with metal covers. A similar snack is stored throughout the winter period, without losing its medicinal properties and pleasant taste.

  • 1 large carrot;
