Samara Puppet Theater: history, repertoire, troupe, reviews

The Samara Puppet Theater began its existence at the dawn of the 20th century. Today he has a rich repertoire, in which there are performances for both children and adults.

History of the theater

The Samara Puppet Theater owes much to its development and development to Sergei Vladimirovich Obraztsov and Evgeny Sergeevich Demmeni. The exact date of its discovery is unknown. The first information about the professional puppet company is dated in 1932. It was collected by Akim Lotsmanov, who was both a director, a decorator, an artist, a screenwriter, and a sculptor. The first troupe consisted of only 5 artists. The dolls of A. Lotsmanov were very beautiful and looked as if they were alive.

To improve the professionalism of the actors, Evgeni Demmeni was invited to the city. He held a seminar, which included practical exercises.

In the first performances, puppets were involved. In 1937, the repertoire included petrushechnye performance.

During the war, almost all the male actors went to the front. All roles were performed by women. In 1945, the actors who had survived on the fronts returned to the troupe. At the same time, young talents also joined her.

In 1947, artists began to work with cane dolls. They are the most spectacular, as an illusion is created that they divide and talk on their own, which creates a sense of magic.

In 1956, the Samara Puppet Theater received its own building along Novo-Sadovaya Street, house number 17. Gradually the troupe became more and more popular. More and more viewers began to come to the performances.

A regular guest was Sergey Obraztsov. He generously shared his experience with the Samara puppeteers, and also invited them to Moscow at the conference.

The first performance for adults Samarans put in 1964. It was a "Divine Comedy".

In the early 80-ies the Samara Puppet Theater became one of the most popular in the country. During this period he began to go on tour and take part in various festivals.

In the early 90's, the auxiliary premises of the theater were repaired. The auditorium and the stage were refurbished in a more modern way.

In 1996, they finished their studies and joined the theater company. At that time there were twenty performances in the repertoire.

The Samara Theater is distinguished by the fact that its dolls are beautiful, colorful, interesting. Produced by their professionals. In the early 90's, these wonderful masters of their business Valery Arkadievich Korotkov. There are not many of them, but they manage to do colossal work. Among them are master masters, dressmaker, designer-mechanic. The success of theater performances depends not only on actors, but also on all these people. After all, if the dolls turn out to be ugly and do not like the audience, then such a stunning success for the productions will no longer be.
