Each culture and mentality is formed under the influence of the habitat. This factor affects not only the nature of the person and the appearance of his clothes, but also on household and gastronomical predilections. It is hard to imagine that the Tatars - an originally nomadic steppe people, will surprise us with the wide variety of their cuisine. They skillfully used the gifts of nature to survive and enjoy the food. Their food perfectly satisfied hunger, charity impact on the body, was easy and useful. She gave strength in long campaigns and served as a reminder of her home. And she satisfied the need for beauty, because it was elegantly laid on a plate and seemed a real masterpiece.

High culinary art does not know compromises, especially if it is a question of gastronomic predilections of Tatars. This cuisine has ancient traditions. That's why the dishes are distinguished by excellent taste qualities, original preparation and decoration. Over time, nomads, to which the Tatars belong, also settled and partly borrowed from their neighboring peoples their customs. But all the same, the dishes of the Tatar cuisine are unique and original, able to satisfy even a very demanding gourmet.

One of the favorite products of the Tatars is meat. Typically, it is horse meat and lamb, occasionally beef and poultry (geese, chickens, ducks). Meat was boiled, stewed, fried. From it they made broth and dried cured sausages. Also in high esteem were products from the milk of sheep and horses: katyk, cottage cheese, koumiss, sour cream, ayran.

Tatar cuisine is an amazing combination of antiquity and modernity, traditions and innovations, flavored with aromatic spices. Soups, noodles, pilaf, vegetables and fruits, famous oriental sweets and strong tea will make the heart beat faster each person. Soups are prepared and on meat broth, and on milk, and on water. The second hospitable Tatar will always offer you dishes from potatoes, cereals or meat, as well as unsweetened pies. The most ancient and very common dishes from the dough are white dumplings and pelmeni.

Tatar cuisine is famous for its love of eggs in fried and boiled form. From time immemorial, they cook a millet or barley mush, generously watering it with melted butter. And the Tatars have a special attitude towards the test. Kystyby with a filling of cereal, cakes and pancakes - these are the dishes that the nomadic tribes were preparing even in the times of Genghis Khan. Today, products from fresh, yeast, sweet, sour and sweet dough conquer us Tatar cuisine. Baking, sweet and savory, is necessarily present on the table, for which the expensive guest is seated. At the wedding must bake chak-chak with the addition of honey. From drinks it is worth trying a strong tea with milk, ayran with a sour milk taste and a sweet honey sherbet, which was served to the newlyweds.

Being the pride of the nation and the joy of gourmets, the Tatar cuisine with its delicious dishes is appropriate both at a family dinner and at a banquet. This is a special sight of Tatarstan, which must be preserved for future generations.
