Regal lilies: reproduction in several ways

Lilies are very diverse. To date, more than 2000 varieties are known, differing in many parameters (plant height, number of leaves on the stem, shape, color and number of flowers, etc.).

Probably, there are no people who would not like them. The only difference is that one is more like Asian, and another - OT-hybrids or some other.

Planting a few bulbs on your site and waiting for their flowering, you may want to have more such wonderful plants as lilies. Reproduction is not difficult, it can be carried out in four ways.

1. Reproduction by children

Four years after planting one plant, a whole nest is formed at this site, consisting of a mother bulb and an uneven-aged daughter. They should be better spent in the second half of August. Having dug on all sides, the nest should be carefully extracted from the soil, trying to keep the roots. In case of suspicion of any disease, bulbs can be kept in the "Maxim" solution for half an hour, and then planted on the prepared place. In the planting pit it is necessary to make a mound, placing an onion on it and spread the roots of the lily. Reproduction by children is the easiest way.

2. Reproduction   "Bulbochkami"

In some species of lilies in the axils of the leaves are formed pochkolukovichki, in the common people called "bulbochkami." If you do not touch them, they fall off and possibly sprout in the next season. If you assemble and plant to grow, the probability of obtaining new plants will increase significantly. On a prepared, composted, humidified place, you need to make a groove 2 cm deep and spread out lilies with a certain distance. Reproduction by this method has one drawback - flowering plants with good care will come only in the 3rd year.

3. Reproduction by leaves

If a lily (flower) has got to you somehow, its reproduction is possible with leaves. To do this, they need to be cut off with a sterile tool near the base. Immerse them for 6 hours in a solution of heteroauxin for 1/3 of the length. Then put in a cold greenhouse to a depth of half a sheet. Periodically water and gently loosen the soil. Approximately 45 days at the base of the leaves are formed small bulbs, the size of a pea. In the spring they need to be planted on a bed for growing. For winter, the place of planting should be insulated, for example, fallen leaves from healthy trees or compost.

4. Reproduction by scales

With bulbs of lilies, the reproduction of which you want to spend at an accelerated pace, you can painlessly remove a few scales. You do not need to dig it out, just bare it. Treat the resulting material with "Maxim" or phytosporin. If it happens in the spring or summer, then the scales can be planted in a penumbra. If the window is autumn, then they need to be put in a bag, pour with moistened sawdust, and tie. Place it in a cool shaded place. After 2 months, you need to check whether the procedure was successful or not. If bulbs are formed in the base of the scales, they must be planted in a pot with soil and placed in the refrigerator until March. After the time has elapsed, put the planting on a light window sill.

5. Stem cuttings

Rarely found lily garden, the reproduction of which is extremely necessary, can be reproduced by stem cuttings. The stem is cut during budding, divided into 7 cm long fragments, the lower leaves are removed and rooted in moistened perlite. After a while in the axils of the leaves can form bulbs.

In addition to the painted ways, it is necessary to note one more variant of reproduction of a lily - reproduction by seeds. This is a labor-intensive procedure that has advantages (the offspring will have no diseases) and minuses (the resulting plants may differ from the parent ones).
