Raw Food for Weight Loss: Benefit and Harm

Any girl dreams of an ideal figure and strive for proportions 90-60-90 in all ways available to her. In recent years it has become very popular raw diet for weight loss. Feedback from those who have already tried this method are contradictory. Some claim that it was raw food that helped them to get rid of the hated extra pounds, while others argue that this method is not so harmless and can adversely affect the health of any woman. Let's try to figure out who is right and who is not.

Raw food for weight loss is based on the principle of eating foods that do not undergo heat treatment. Proponents of such nutrition claim that from raw vegetables and fruits the body receives far more vitamins and nutrients than from those that have been fried, boiled, salted or marinated. Such food is easily digested and is capable of removing toxins, thus having a beneficial effect on the body. However, opponents convince us that raw diet for weight loss does not allow you to give the amount of protein, fat and carbohydrates that is necessary for normal human life. Everyone knows that our very distant relatives spent their entire conscious life eating only raw food, and that was enough for a normal life. But is this enough in our modern life?

The benefits of raw food:

  • Vegetables such as cabbage, garlic, onions, lettuce and others, lose almost all of their useful substances during heat treatment. Therefore, their consumption in raw form fully saturates the human body with the necessary vitamins. For this reason, raw food eaters rarely get sick, and if they catch an infection, they cope with it very quickly. Similarly, those who eat raw food, less likely to suffer from cardiovascular diseases and almost do not get cancer.
  • Raw diet for weight loss is also beneficial because the coarse fibers in the foodstuffs cleans the bowels well and relieve constipation. Thus, from raw food experts you will almost never hear complaints about the work of the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Due to the fact that when raw food is not used salt, it is well excreted from the body, thereby reducing the risks of thrombosis of the arteries and hypertension.
  • The skin of the face improves, the hair becomes thicker and grows faster, the nails are stronger, and the teeth less often suffer from caries.

Harm raw food:

  • Raw legumes, which are consumed in large quantities as a substitute for animal protein, are very slowly absorbed by the body, put off toxins, and therefore can be quite harmful to health. If you choose raw diet for weight loss, choose recipes individually and do not follow the blind advice of the guru.
  • On vegetable types of protein, many are allergic.
  • Spinach and sorrel have a lot of acid in their composition, which makes it difficult to absorb calcium.
  • Vitamin A, contained in carrots in large quantities, is blocked by fiber, which is in the same product.

Thus, doctors do not recommend using a full raw diet for weight loss, and advised to eat at least 30-40% of non-salty foods. So the body will not be shocked by the cardinal change of nutrition, and the forces will suffice for all planned cases.
