Quality control of construction works

Quality control of works in construction is a check of compliance of used materials, products, equipment and structures with design techniques of production, requirements of regulatory documentation, design decisions, construction time and its cost for design estimates.

The quality of the products is compulsorily determined at each stage of the work: in the preparation of regulatory documentation, design, manufacture of materials and components, the production of installation.

The quality of construction and installation work must comply with the requirements of the project and documentation. It depends on the qualifications of engineers and workers, applied products and materials, tools and machines used, and compliance with technology.

Quality control of construction and installation works and the adoption of operational measures to eliminate the marriage may be internal and external. The latter is carried out by departmental and state control bodies.

The customer carries out the technical supervision of the quality of the works performed, their volumes, terms of execution and accepts the completely finished objects.

State bodies of architectural and construction control sign a permit for the production of works, track the linkage of the building to the allocated site and compliance with the rules for the performance of work. For each contractor must have a license for activities.

Author's supervision is carried out by the general design organization, carrying out quality control of construction works and compliance with the projects under construction.

Internal control over the quality of the activities carried out is performed by the staff and supervisory bodies of the installation organizations at all stages. Builders, masters and team leaders carry out an on-line inspection of the quality of construction work continuously and continuously. They bear personal responsibility (both administrative and criminal) for violation of construction laws and compliance with production technology. The chief engineer (as the technical director of the organization) systematically performs selective (for individual objects) quality control of construction works.

Internal control consists of input, operational, and acceptance and laboratory.

The input is a check of the quality of the accepted design documentation, incoming materials, products, components and equipment. The technical department of the parent company monitors the compliance of the documentation with all the possibilities for performing the work during the project approval and the receipt of the working drawings. At the same time, the quality of materials, equipment and products is guaranteed by compliance with certificates, specifications, standards, working drawings and passports. This supervision is performed by linear engineers, customer representatives and laboratories.

Operational (separate pieces of work) quality control of construction works carried out in the workplace - the main type of internal technical supervision. It is carried out both by the workers themselves and by the production personnel. Performed after the end of production operations, is aimed at identifying defects and promptly eliminating them. It is implemented according to the schemes developed as part of the PPR.

Laboratory control is necessarily carried out at large volumes of construction. Special laboratories monitor the quality of incoming products and materials, verify their compliance with specifications, GOSTs, certificates and standards.

Acceptance control assesses the quality of completed structures or their individual parts, as well as hidden works.

Geodetic and metrological quality assurance is performed by the relevant services and laboratories for the purpose of unity, reliability of measurements, accuracy.

Quality control of construction is an indispensable condition for the erection of facilities, a pledge of their safety and reliability.
