Pumps for wells, their technical characteristics

The extraction of water from the well is carried out by immersing a special pump there. Submersible pumps for wells differ from self-priming pumps in that they have a multi-stage suction system. This fact causes their high cost and complex mechanism of work. The pump is a small cylinder that can flow huge amounts of water per hour. The principle of operation is that the engine, due to its high speed and high power, lifts the liquid from the depth to the surface. The electric motor is cooled by the created water flow, to properly operate it, it is necessary to correctly calculate the required power.

All well pumps have documentation that specifies the permissible rates of water velocity, so the diameter of the well should correspond to the diameter of the cylinder of the downhole pump. The pump head can be determined using the simple formula H = H1 + H2 + H3 + 20%, where H is the required head, H1 is the distance from the earth's surface to the water level in the well, H2 is the distance from the earth's point to the water supply point in the house, H3 - water pressure pressure, and 20% - allowance for error and resistance in the pipe. Thus, the pressure created depends on the distance between the house and the well.

Today, pumps for the well can be bought as a three-inch, and ten-inch in diameter. The pump capacity can range from 1 cubic meter. Up to 200 cubic meters. at one o'clock. The better and more powerful the pump, the more expensive and better. Therefore, it is necessary to select a pump, which is optimal for your case. A mandatory condition for installing a downhole pump is the installation of a non-return valve. This is necessary in order that in the event of a power outage or shutdown of the pump, the water does not go back into the well. Pumps for wells with minimal voltage drops can work incorrectly or completely break down. Also, the moment when the pump is running "dry" should not be allowed if the water level in the well has dropped or the suction hose is above this level.

You can avoid such troubles in two ways. This, firstly, the use of a special float, which at a critical level is triggered, so that the pump automatically turns off, and secondly, the control is not behind the water level, but behind its movement. If the water does not rise from the well, the pumping installation is also turned off.

Very often in the suburban areas there is no possibility to install an electric generator or connect the central electricity, so the submersible electric pump will not work. Consider another type - a hand pump for a well. The principle of his work is very simple, with some physical effort, you can get enough water. Demand for these pumps for wells is very low, so the price for them is significantly lower than for a submersible pump. Although in some situations this is the only option to get water on your site.

A hand pump can extract water from a well depth of 7 meters or a depth of 15-30 meters. The average volume of lifted water is 20-30 liters per minute from any depth. But a pump that provides a water lift from 30 meters will be much larger and heavier than a pump designed for a 7-meter deep well. A hand pump can come in handy if a good electric pump is not available.
