Providing fire safety - the guarantee of safety of lives of people and property values

To prevent risks caused by the possibility of ignition of various materials in everyday life and at work, organizational and technical arrangements are carried out. Their practical focus, providing for fire safety, is conditioned by the need to create conditions for life and health of people. Also, the safety of technical and material assets is of no small importance.

The fire safety system is a complex of available technical materials and human resources, includes measures of legal, organizational, economic and social and scientific and technical areas to ensure fire fighting.

Structurally, the main element to ensure the implementation of firefighting measures are state bodies, authorized bodies and citizens involved in performing fire safety tasks (in accordance with the law).

The main functions of the system, providing fire safety, are the following:

- provision of fire safety with regulatory and legal measures to regulate and implement state control measures, their effectiveness and legality;

- organization and practice of fire protection;

- development and implementation of fire safety measures;

- distribution of powers in the sphere of fire safety between structural bodies and officials;

- conducting propaganda work to prevent fires, training personnel to combat fires;

- technical works on compliance with fire safety measures ;

- production of products that meet the requirements of fire safety;

- elimination of locally generated fires in the field, rendering assistance to specialized bodies in eliminating large-scale or difficult-to-access fires.

Providing fire safety at the enterprise provides, to some extent, all of the above, as well as a number of other functional tasks. Firstly, planning documents are developed and, if necessary, coordinated, which should textually and graphically contain:

- descriptions of systems providing fire safety at all sites;

- descriptions and design solutions of fire water supply, dedicated driveways and passages for fire fighting equipment;

- descriptions of completed structural calculations, fire resistance and assigned fire safety class of capital structures;

- descriptions and design solutions aimed at the safety of people in the event of fires;

- information on buildings, premises, equipment and external installations that have an increased explosion and fire hazard;

- lists of objects equipped with automatic fire alarm, fire extinguishing systems ;

- administrative materials that determine the actions of employees in the event of fires in specific production or other work areas, as well as evacuation schemes.

The provision of fire safety mainly depends on the conscientiousness of people, their understanding of the importance of exact and strict compliance with fire safety measures, competent and skillful actions to eliminate the emergent fires, evacuation from fires.
