How to replace

It does not require special skills. Also, no special tools will be needed for the work. For replacement, you do not even need to disassemble the box. But the dismantling of the checkpoint is still necessary.

How do I remove the transmission?

To remove the box you need a viewing pit or a lift. Also, you need a standard set of tools - a wrench, heads, wrenches and mounting. The dismantling process is performed in several stages:

  1. First of all, disconnect the battery terminal. Then neutral transmission is switched on, the parking brake is switched off. Raise and withdraw the rear axle. Then unscrew the bolts holding the cardan and the flange of the reducer. After that, you can detach the PTO shaft.
  2. Then unscrew bolts and dismantle the exhaust pipe of the exhaust manifold, detach the oxygen sensor, remove the starter. Further in the car you need to dismantle the console and the gearbox knob.
  3. After that, remove the protection of the box, unscrew the clamps that connect the intake pipe to the catalyst. After that, the clutch slave cylinder can be dismantled. Next, unscrew the speedometer cable, remove the dust guard and the rear transmission cable. Now you can get a cardan shaft. Then untwist traverses (thus it is necessary to hold a box that that has not fallen). Finally, you can unscrew and remove the gearbox assembly.

Where is the bearing, how to dismantle it?

On the domestic production cars, the primary shaft bearing is located on the secondary shaft, directly behind the stuffing box. When the gearbox is completely removed from the car, the bell is pulled out, as well as the locking rings. Next, you do not need to parse the node.

In order to replace the part, you need to use a screwdriver to engage the bearing by its annular groove. Then the primary shaft is pushed forward using the bearing as a support. Then slowly pull the bearing off the shaft, tapping it with a hammer. To hurry it is not necessary. Replacement of the bearing of the input shaft of the VAZ can take from several minutes to one hour.

How to install a new element on the shaft?

The new part on the primary shaft can be installed using the crimping technique. The bearing is heavily lubricated with engine oil, and then pressed with a small hammer.

It is important that the tool is not only small, but not heavy. The hammer must be gently and evenly beat on the inner ring of the part. The shaft is pulled forward. After pressing it is recommended to make sure that the part works normally. The serviceable bearing rotates easily and quietly, without noise. After the replacement of the bearing of the input shaft (VAZ including) is completed, establish a check point to its rightful place. All assembly work should be carried out in the reverse order.

If the bearing is completely free of oil, but there is no damage on its surface, then the replacement can be omitted, but with the lubrication and installation back. So do, if for some reason the right spare part is missing on the hands. Lubricate the bearing of the input shaft of the gearbox (VAZ including) in two ways. The first option involves the digestion of the part in lithol. It is best to perform such an operation on a water bath. But there is also a safer option - lubrication by the method of syringing. To do this, the lithol is collected in a syringe and stuffed with a lubricant into the bearing. But you need to take into account that this process requires more time.
