"Sid and Nancy" is an expression, probably everyone heard. It has become almost a common name. For many, this phrase is associated with the big, clean and real love of Sid Viches, the world-famous guitarist of the English band "Sex Pistols", and his girlfriend is American Nancy Spangen. However, in real life everything was completely different. They were both drug addicts - both Sid and Nancy. Their story is not a story about a beautiful and unhappy love. It's a terrible nightmare, they could not get out of.

In 1986, the director Alex Cox was screened the tragic story of Sid Viches and Nancy Spandzhen. The film, which appeared on screens called "Sid and Nancy", is a biography of their relationship. This is a story about them and about the time when they were together, starting with an unexpected meeting at a common acquaintance in London and ending with the tragic events in New York at the Chelsea hotel.

Sid Vishes is the guitarist of Sex Pistols. In the legendary group, Sid got completely by accident. And immediately fell under the influence of the scandalous glory that the band was known for. Sid became, perhaps, the brightest character in the group, although he was very poor at playing the guitar (sometimes he was even specifically turned off from the speakers so as not to spoil the sound). All thanks to the image of the ideal punk rocker.

Nancy Spanjen is a cheeky girl from a respectable American family and ... a drug addict with experience. Nancy came to London with one purpose - to sleep with all the members of the group "Sex Pistols". The first on her list was John, then Steve. And then she went to Sid. Well, Sid fell in love, instantly and irrevocably. Yes, so that soon without Nancy he could not step a step. And without drugs, which were always "driven" by the girl.

They began to live together, and Sid increasingly moved away from the group. His fellow musicians hated Nancy and believed that she was a serious problem to their creativity. Between Sid and the group, disagreements and scandals began. When the band was going to a large-scale tour of America, the musicians refused to take Nancy with them. Sid had an ultimatum: either to go without her, or not to go at all. The musician was depressed. They parted with Nancy, and during the tour, Sid did not get off the heroin.

However, after a long separation, they were together again. And they got closer even more. Now they were together, alone against the whole world. And nothing, and no one could separate them. They again plunged into drugs and passion for each other and traveled around the world in search of thrills. Sid began to burden "Sex Pistols" with his addictions, and then the group decided that they would continue their work without him.

For Nancy and Sid began a black streak. After Sid's departure from the group, they began to run out of money for heroin. The couple went to New York to Nancy's parents to get money. But the family did not accept Nancy and Sid and drove them out into the street.

Then they had to return to England again. Sid tried in vain to start a solo career. Nancy even managed to arrange a couple of concerts for him. But the public did not want to see a former and punk rocker who had been drunk and drunk.

After a series of setbacks with concerts, Sid and Nancy lay down. But not for long…

On the morning of October 12, 1978, at the Chelsea Hotel, waking from a drug nightmare, Sid found his beloved Nancy dead on the floor in the bathroom in a pool of blood and a knife in his chest. Besides him, there was no one in the room ...

Sid spent several months under investigation. He was accused of murdering his girlfriend, but he categorically denied and said that he could not kill Nancy, although because of the severe narcotic intoxication he did not remember anything about the events of that night.

But Sid did not know who had killed his favorite Nancy. On February 1, 1978 Vishhes was released on bail. And the next day he was found dead. The cause of death is an overdose of heroin.

In the last scene of the film the writers retreated from reality and showed us that even after the death of Sid and Nancy stayed together.

But does this "heroin paradise" really exist, in which Sid and Nancy are reunited after death? Probably, all the same no. But precisely there was a heroin hell in which they turned their lives, and which destroyed them themselves. Sid and Nancy. They were so young, they thirsted for new impressions and were full of hope, but instead of life they chose death.
