Until recently, until 2008, there was no Lana Wachowski on the cinematic horizon. Neither as a star, nor as even a modest statistic. But every person, who knows a little bit in films, knew the Wachowski brothers - American directors, screenwriters and producers, creators of the iconic "Matrix". Childhood

Lana Vachovski was born on June 21, 1965. Parents (and the obstetrician, and everyone else) thought that a boy appeared in the world. That's why he was named Laurence. After more than two years (to be exact, December 29, 1967), another child appeared in the family - Andrew Paul. Surname Wachowski gives Polish roots to an American family that has long settled in Chicago (Illinois, USA). The brothers' father was a businessman, and his mother a nurse. So the family was well-off, although not very rich. Despite the two-year age difference, the brothers were "do not pour water". They had common interests and hobbies. The head of the family was a convinced atheist, but his mother, having been in the bosom of the Catholic church, began to profess shamanism. This amazing religious upbringing influenced the future creativity of the brothers. Laurence and Andrew Paul graduated from the same schools: first starting in his native Chicago, and then an average, public Whitney Yang. Youth

When the time came to enter the university, the brothers' ways were dispersed. With them, they began their careers. Under the creative names of Andy and Larry (now Lana) Wachowski, the brothers opened an agency that painted the facades of the houses. The beginning of a career in show business

This happened in 1996. But before that, Andy and Larry (Lana) Wachowski created a screenplay for "Assassins", a film in which Sylvester Stallone, Antonio Banderas and Julianne Moore participated. But director Richard Donner mercilessly reshaped the work of the brothers, so that from their work in the picture there is not much left. Wachowski was upset and in the future they firmly decided to screen their scripts themselves. In general, there was a film "Communication" in the style of "Noir". It was a low-cost painting, in which one of the two brothers sisters, Julie Wachowski, took part. At the box office the film failed, but film critics (as it often happens) did not agree with the audience. "Communication" was awarded several awards and opened the way for the brothers in show business. Now, with a "name", Larry and Andy Wachowski could count on a large budget. Cult trilogy

To be fair, it should be noted that Larry has always worked and continues to create a duet with his brother Andy. The "Matrix" was immediately conceived as a trilogy. But the viewer did not know about it yet. And the producers, too. The bosses of Warner Brothers were very skeptical about the requested amount of $ 80 million and gave only ten new directors. Then Andy and Lana Wachowski created the first ten minutes of the film. The show convinced the film studio to give the brothers the remaining seventy million. The "Matrix", released on screens in 1999, produced a bomb effect. The viewer wanted to continue, and it did not take long. Two other episodes of the Matrix, Reloaded and Revolution (2003) were as profitable as the first film. But the public did not manage to communicate with the famous screenwriters and directors. In the contract that the brothers signed with the film company, it was written that they refused to communicate with the press, give interviews and participate in a talk show.
