The film "Cold Summer 53", the actors of which have long won the audience's love, is a screen drama dedicated to the difficult times of Stalinist repressions and the events that took place with the convicts after the amnesty. What difficulties did the main characters in the band face? And what is the tragedy of their fate?

The creators of the picture and a short story

The film "Cold Summer 53" - a dramatic film by Alexander Proshkin, shot under the script of Edgar Dubrovsky. Alexander Proshkin previously acted as the creator of such films as "Dangerous Age" and "Mikhailo Lomonosov". After the film "Cold Summer of the 53rd", filmed in 1987, Proshkin released a pretty famous film "See Paris and Die", as well as "Doctor Zhivago."

In the movie "Cold Summer 53" actors take the viewer to a time when Stalin just died and many prisoners were granted amnesty. Having freed themselves from the colonies, they flooded the cities of the Soviet Union, but continued to lead a far from righteous way of life.

Against the backdrop of these events in a small village in the north of the country a real drama is played out: the criminals who returned from prison organize a gang, they kill the only district militiaman and keep the whole village in awe. However, among them there are political prisoners Luzga and Kopalych, who are not going to live according to such brutal laws.

Valery Priemykhov is a professional actor and screenwriter. Thanks to his role in the film Proshkin, Priemykhov was recognized as the best artist in the USSR (according to the version of the magazine "Soviet Screen"). In the whole filmography of the artist, several key works can be singled out: "Boys", "Our armored train", "Crusader", "Mama, do not grieve" and "Kamenskaya".

In the film "The Cold Summer of the 53rd" the actors of Priemykhov and Papanov played comrades in misfortune: they were both exiled on political article to the northern camps. The hero of Priemykhov, Sergei Basargin, received the nickname of Luzga. He had to forget about military service in the regimental intelligence and learn how to talk about the hair dryer.

When Basargin is granted amnesty, nothing much changes in his life, because the most efficient years and good name are ruined. However, Luzga still had some of the officer's dignity, and he does not intend to put up with the outrage of the bandits. With the support of Kopalych, Basargin one by one neutralizes the gang members who captured the village.

Proshkin's film for the famous Soviet actor Papanov was the last. After filming the film "Cold Summer 53" the actors went home - Anatoly Papanov rushed to Moscow, as he had a rehearsal at the theater the same day. To freshen up, the actor decided to take a contrast shower, and at that moment he was overtaken by a heart attack.

In the filmography of Papanov there are such iconic films for Soviet cinema as "The Diamond Arm", "Gentlemen of Fortune", "Give a Plaintive Book". Also, the wolf from the beloved cartoon "Well, wait," says the artist's voice.

In the movie "Cold Summer 53" the actors of Papanov and Priemykh played criminals. But they differed from other zeks in their internal content, because both Luzga and Kopalych belonged to the Soviet elite in the past. In the final, Anatoly Papanov's hero dies, trying to save his comrades.

Other performers of roles

The film "The Cold Summer of the 53rd", the actors of which perfectly played their characters, entered the filmography of Nina Usatova, Yuri Kuznetsov, Vladimir Kashpur.

Nina Usatova enjoyed the most popularity in the late 80's - early 90's. It was then that among her film works appeared paintings "Fountain" and "Window to Paris" by Y. Mamin, "Women's Property" by D. Meskhiev, "Quadrille" by V. Titov and Next O. Fomin.

Yuri Kuznetsov became recognizable after the role of Lieutenant Colonel Petrenko, nicknamed Amanita in the cult series "The Streets of Broken Lanterns."

Vladimir Kashpur, who played the role of the pier operator, started acting in the cinema in 1959: then the actor got the role of a holy fool in the biographical film "Vasily Surikov". Subsequently, the actor starred in such films as "There is no ford in the fire," "Mishkin surgeon days", "Peter's Youth" and "Battalions ask for fire". Kashpur died in 2009, having before leaving to participate in the drama "Bastards" and in the series "Penalty".
