Phloxal Ointment

"Phloxal" ointment, being an antibacterial drug, is used in the treatment of ophthalmic diseases locally. The active component ofloxacin, which is part of the fluoroquinolones group, is active against a large number of bacteria (Gram-negative).

"Floxal" (ophthalmic ointment) is indicated in the prevention of bacterial infection during surgical interventions (ophthalmic), as well as after injuries (traumatic nature) of the eyeball.

A drug is also prescribed for the treatment of an infection accompanied by inflammation after surgery for eye or injury.

"Floxal" (ointment) is recommended to be used in the treatment of inflammatory pathologies in the front eye chambers or departments where diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the active substance develop. Such ailments, in particular, include conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, blepharitis, keratitis, dacryocystitis, barley, chlamydial lesion.

If you need to use several ophthalmic drugs (local), you should observe an interval between applications of five minutes or more. Combined use of the ointment and drops "Floxal" is allowed. In this instillation (instillation) is carried out first.

Ointment should be pawned in the affected eye, its conjunctival sac (lower). Applications are carried out twice or thrice a day. For application use a strip of ointment about one and a half centimeters.

When treating Chlamydia, do not use the drug more than five times a day. Duration of application - no more than fourteen days.

Negative manifestations when using the drug "Floxal" (ointment) include allergies, transient redness in the conjunctiva, a feeling of discomfort, burning, itching in the eyes, dryness or increased lacrimation, photophobia. In rare cases, dizziness may occur.

Contraindications are hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones.

Despite the fact that clinical practice does not describe cases of adverse effects on the fetus during the bearing of the drug "Floxal" (ointment), it is not recommended to prescribe the drug to pregnant women. Do not use breastfeeding women.

It is not recommended to use contact lenses during treatment.

In order to prevent the occurrence of photophobia, it is recommended to wear sunglasses in the summer or avoid direct contact with the sun, not to be in brightly lit places.

After introduction into the area of the conjunctival sac, a temporary visual disturbance is possible. This fact should be taken into account in the treatment of patients whose activities are directly related to the management of transport, work with mechanisms and equipment, which require a clear view. After the disappearance of visual disturbances or unpleasant sensations, there are no special restrictions in the work.
