Onyeroid syndrome: symptoms, treatment. Treatment of onyeroid-catatonic syndrome in schizophrenia

The onyroid syndrome is schizophrenic delirium, which is characterized by a specific kind of disturbance of the mind (dream-like disorientation) with the presence of complete pictures of imaginary pseudo-hallucinatory and dream emotions, which are confused with evidence.

What manifestations does this syndrome have?

All surrounding is accepted by the patient for purposefully arranged, where for him "the play" is played out with dummies (delirium of a double, staged). There is a loss in time and place, a special orientation in a personal individual: the patient realizes that he is in the clinic, but at that moment he can be the captain of a spacecraft flying to other planets, and the people around him and medical workers are perceived as cosmonauts And the welcome vessel messengers of other cultures. This is how the onyroid syndrome manifests itself.

Symptoms Are caused by the behavior of a patient who is in such a state, contrasting with his fabulous pseudo-hallucinatory-delirious symptoms. As a rule, he lies quietly in bed, closing his eyes, sometimes producing "flying-dimensional" movements with his hands, looking at his miraculous incidents, but only from the outside. Along with this, the understanding of the passing days and the age of the patient is destroyed: he thinks that he has been in flight for many light years, and during this period he repeatedly passed away and was revived by cloning.

Signs of Sleepwalking

Sometimes the patient does not rest, but wanders dreamily around the ward with a "bewitched" smile, all looking inward. When asked about something, he conveys some of his supernatural worries. The onyroid syndrome can be manifested in the form of single catatonic signs, for example, a sub-stage or catalepsy. It should be noted that the topic of emotions in the onyroid stage is taken from personal skill, viewed movies of a suitable plot or read books of a fairy tale series.

When you leave this state, the patient saves in his memory all the wonderful feelings, but amnesizes the real actions that happened in his life at the stage of such a pathological attack. For several days, residual hallucinations can occur.

The duration of the onyroid condition can be 2-3 days or even 1-2 weeks. Often, this pathology occurs in schizophrenia, but it is sometimes found with internal brain damage and poisoning.

In what cases can you identify such a disease?

Oneyroid syndrome occurs:

  • With catatonic schizophrenia (often formed with characteristic dynamics);
  • Symptomatic psychosis (white fever) ;
  • Epilepsy;
  • With diseases of the brain.

Catatonic Schizophrenia

Initially, emotional disorders in the form of depressive and subdepressive mood are noted, then a period of delusional state appears when the surrounding is presented to the patient incomprehensible and changed. Irrelevant feelings are accompanied by unsystematic stupid ideas, especially death, persecution, and ailments. Then there is a hallucination of mystery, intermetamorphosis and meaning.

Patients with onyeroid syndrome, testify to the fact that a certain action takes place near them, and they become either its spectators or participants. At the same time, psychological automatisms, verbal nonsense, false recognition are possible. Then a stage is formed of a sharp enchanting paraphrenia or directed onyroid, as a result of which the patient coexists dreamlike dreams, hallucinations and orientation in actual conditions. The clinical picture of catatonic schizophrenia results in the development of a real onyroid.

Diagnostics

General measures of the diagnosis of schizophrenia are required. Special catatonic indicators may appear transistorically due to any form of such a disease. To diagnose this schizophrenia, you should determine some character of the patient's behavior under severe conditions if he has a syndrome:

  • External causes);
  • Rigidity (maintaining a firm position in response to a test to change it);
  • Stupor (reduction of reactions to the environment, activity and spontaneous movements);
  • Congealing (voluntary reception and holding of an inappropriate, strange posture);
  • Wax elasticity (holding parts of the body in this position);
  • Negativism (irrational obstruction or body movement in the opposite direction in response to efforts or settings to change position, move from place);
  • Other symptoms (perseveration and automatic subordination).

Treatment of onyeroid-catatonic syndrome in schizophrenia

Cope with a malaise is real only in a psychiatric hospital with the help of medicinal, and sometimes - shock therapy. After the patient leaves the state of stupor, long and often lifelong medical treatment will be needed to prevent relapses of catatonia. During an exacerbation it will be necessary to bring the patient to a psychiatric clinic as soon as possible. As a rule, patients in this situation often refuse to take food, can get confused in themselves due to lack of orientation in place and in time, and also pose a huge threat to themselves and others.

Drug therapy

To cure catatonic schizophrenia, tranquilizers of benzodiazepine series, as well as drugs based on GABA, are usually used. Sometimes, to the general program of treatment, muscle relaxants, dopamine antagonists and normotimics are added. With a prolonged attack of catatonia, electroconvulsive therapy is successfully used.

Prognosis of the disease

It should be realized that the onyroid syndrome (treatment of which was indicated above) is a very terrible condition, both in the physical and mental terms. Such a patient should be placed as soon as possible in a psychiatric hospital. This will prevent any risk associated with the life and health of the patient. In addition, this group of people requires 24-hour monitoring of vital vital functions, and intravenous infusion of drugs and parenteral nutrition may still be needed .
