Windows Update was not an unnecessary headache, at least until now. And that's why: the convenience of automatic downloading, perhaps, is invaluable, but automatic rebooting is very much in question. Fortunately, "Windows 10" now allows you to schedule a reboot within a certain time, pop-up windows "Remind in 4 hours" is no more!

The universe, of course, is against the convenience of users

In Windows 10 Technical Preview, "Update Center" still downloads and installs updates automatically. And if you have it set to "automatically", updates will follow the same scenario as in previous versions of "Windows": automatically rebooted, according to the law of meanness, at the most inopportune moment.

There is an exit!

But the developers of the most popular software decided to please the users, and now it is possible to configure the restart time itself. Here's how to do it.

1. Open the "Settings" menu and click "Update & Restore".

2. Right under the "Update Center" there is a button "Check for updates". Click on it. If a new update is available, the device will download and install it.
If the update requires a reboot, you will see a new section in the Windows Update window titled "Restart was scheduled."
Just the same in it and you can choose automatic or its time to restart, or click "Restart now."

3. To customize the computer at your own discretion, you do not have to worry about it for a long time: the operating system even tells you how to do it. To do this, the Advanced Settings tab is available. Under "Select when updates will be installed", click on "Notify about scheduled reboot" from the drop-down menu. Thus, planning will be completely under your control.
