Mykolaivka, Ukraine. Settlement Mykolaivka, Ukraine - map

In Ukraine there is not one village with this name. This article will tell you about several.

Mykolaivka (Ukraine, Donetsk region)

It is a small town that is located near the river Seversky Donets. It is located at a distance of 20 km to the east of Slavyansk.

Together with Druzhkovka, Red Liman, Slavic, Svyatogorsk and Kramatorsk is included in the Kramatorsk agglomeration. The very same Nikolaevka (Ukraine, Donetsk region) has about 15 thousand inhabitants. Although it is a city of regional importance (this status was received in 2003), it is administratively subordinated to the nearby Slavyansk.

Grounds and history of the town

The settlement was founded in 1730 by Danila Bystritsky. He served as a baggage in the Izyum regiment. The first inhabitants were the families of the two brothers Grunskikh. Then the population grew, and after two years there were more than 80 people there.

It was then that the settlement got its first name - the Red Bull. And not in vain, because there are a lot of red clay deposits in the vicinity, and the river that flowed into Seversky Donets in the Nikolaevka area blurred it and carried it with the flow.

The water became dull red.

In the beginning of the 19th century the village grew and there were already about 2 thousand people in it. At the same time, it was renamed Nikolayevka, most likely in honor of the icon of St. Nicholas, who was in the local chapel.

Development of industry in Mykolaivka

Clay in the vicinity of Mykolayivka and in the surrounding areas was very high quality. In the early 20th century, the first small porcelain factory was founded here. This was done by the entrepreneur Essen. Most of the residents of the village got a stable job.

Pottery was also popular. In Nikolaevka even a professional school of this art was opened. In the 1930s, two collective farms also operated in the settlement.

The war years were hard for the inhabitants of Mykolaivka, because in 1941 - 1942 the front line was not far away. When the Germans had to retreat, they organized the evacuation of civilians to the west and they themselves took out their equipment and soldiers along with them. So people from Nikolaevka found themselves in the nearby village of Varvarovka, Kramatorsk district. Their home settlement was burned by the Germans, there were only 70 houses out of almost a thousand. I had to rebuild everything.

One of the most significant post-war projects was the construction of the Slavyanskaya GRES in Nikolaevka. At that time, it was one of the most powerful in Europe.

Unfortunately, the conflict that Ukraine is suffering from is still in full swing. Nikolaevka, a photo of the destroyed buildings which is presented below, also suffered considerable losses.

Settlement Mykolaivka in the Crimea: a foundation and a brief history

This village is located on the very shore of the Black Sea, at a distance of 40 km from Simferopol. It has the status of an urban settlement since 1988, since there are no more than 3 thousand people living there. At the moment it is part of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

It was founded in 1858 with the permission of the tsar, former sailor Andrei Bobyr, who participated in the Crimean War, in particular, in the First Defense of Sevastopol. He and his son dug dugouts on the beach, and so the two families lived at the first time. Then, immigrants from Poltava joined them. They also dug their dugouts.

Since in the Crimea with drinking water things are not very good, they all settled near the spring of Nikolov key, so they subsequently named the inhabitants their new habitat Nikolaevka. At the beginning of the 20th century, houses were built in the settlement, built of shell rock and covered with straw. Nikolaevka was gradually ennobled. In 1900, its population was already about 350 people.

In the pre-war years, a collective farm was organized here, which was engaged in the cultivation of cotton and fishing.

In 1941, it was from the vicinity of the village of Nikolaevka (Ukraine) that a fire was fired on the fascist invaders, which blocked the road to Simferopol-Evpatoria, and this event is considered the beginning of the defense of Sevastopol.

Resort development

Approximately since the beginning of the 1960s, vacationers began to come here little by little. What attracted them in this remote place? Firstly, the beaches here are covered with small pebbles, and the bottom of the sea is shallow, there are no sharp cliffs. Secondly, housing is always cheaper here than in Yalta or Sevastopol. Therefore, Nikolaevka is chosen by fans of a quiet and budgetary rest, families with children often come. Also, quite often on the weekends there appear the Simferopolites themselves, so that a day or so to soak up in the sun baths, because this is the closest in distance resort from the capital of the Crimea. In addition, in recent years, Nikolaevka noticeably prettier: there was a developed infrastructure, restaurants, mini-hotels, there was a transport connection with Sevastopol, Simferopol, Evpatoria.

Now rest here too can be more or less diverse. For example, you can taste dishes of Crimean-Tatar, Armenian, Georgian cuisine, go to the Saki healing lake, visit a nature park or take children to the Banana Republic in Evpatoria. All this is at a distance of 20 km from Nikolaevka.

Also here there is no port, nor any harmful production. Nikolaevka is really an ecologically clean resort. The air here is rich in iodine ions, so it is especially useful for those who suffer from abnormalities of the thyroid gland. So all the advantages of rest in this Crimean village is obvious.

Ukraine, the village of Nikolaevka (Dnepropetrovsk region)

In general, in the Dnepropetrovsk region there are as many as 9 settlements with this name. Basically it's a village. But now I want to mention the largest of them. This is the village of Nikolaevka (Ukraine) in the Petropavlovsk area of the above-mentioned region. It has good transport links, because it lies directly on the E-50 highway that connects Dnepropetrovsk and Donetsk, and there are two railway stations of the Donetsk railway directly on the territory of the village.

At first the village was called Nikolskaya Sloboda, and in it lived the retired pikemen (kind of infantry) of the Lugansk regiment. Earlier their garrison was in Slavyansk, where there was a wooden church of St. Nicholas. That's why they called the new settlement so. Later they moved this church to their settlement. It is still operational, although it was closed twice in the Soviet era. It was opened for the second time in 1991, when Ukraine became an independent power.

The village of Nikolaevka today boasts one of the best schools in the region.

Nikolaevka (Kyiv region, Makarov district)

This is a very tiny settlement with a population of 30 people, but it is interesting because it is located near the ethno complex "Ukrainian village." This is a unique installation in the open air, where the houses with all the utensils in the national style were recreated.

It is not difficult to get to Nikolaevka: after leaving Kiev on the Zhytomyr highway, turn right in the direction of Khmelnoye after leaving the village of Lyubimovka. After 5 km and there will be a village of Nikolaevka (Ukraine, Kiev region). Or you can get by public bus from Kiev. He recovers from the metro station "Svyatoshin".

Of course, it is impossible to tell about all the settlements that carry the name Nikolaevka (Ukraine). The map abounds with similar names, because in almost every region there is a settlement with this name, and even a few.
