"MU MU" - a garbage museum in the Kaluga region

In the spring of 2016 a very unusual art exhibition opened near the glorious city of Kaluga. This is a garbage museum in the Kaluga region, which is by far the first and only in the whole of Russia. Where is this unusual place, what exhibits are present in his collection, and who will be interested in visiting it?

The first art museum of rubbish in Russia

Modern man produces an incredible amount of garbage daily. Some masters try to make crafts from abandoned material, and conscious citizens hand over waste for processing. Nevertheless, these efforts to maintain a favorable ecological situation in large cities are not enough. The idea of creating an art garbage space arose among a group of creative designers "Büro". Creative people often leave some kind of junk material for new creations. So it happened in this case. The designers thought about garbage recycling only, having accumulated a whole hangar of various interesting things that "it's a pity to throw out." The solution to this problem was creative: to turn a junk warehouse into a collection of art objects. This is how the garbage museum appeared in the Kaluga region.

Everyone can create from trash!

To date, the museum's collection consists of more than a hundred original exhibits. These are useful household items and art objects. The authors of the project call their garbage museum in the Kaluga region affectionately: "MU MU" - short for the first letters of the full name. The exposition occupies an area of 1000 meters 2 and is divided into thematic zones. The pride of the collection is the work of famous designers. This is Nirit Lewaw Packer, Tatiana Ovchinnikova, Stanislav Gomzikov, Leonty Ozernikov and many others. In the neighborhood with the works of recognized masters, you can observe the crafts of ordinary people who are engaged in creative work out of junk material. Each visitor to the museum can offer and transfer to the gift of the exhibition his own works. Provided that they are made of material that most modern people do not hesitate to take out in the trash.

The idea of the exposition

The garbage museum in the Zhukovsky district of the Kaluga region is not only creativity of the creators, but also an ideological message to the society. The imagination of the guests is amazed by the interactive pile of rubbish, the "Chlamore" room and the life-sized model helicopter.
