"Motherly glory" - the order given for prowess in the upbringing of children

Already by the end of the war with the fascists it became clear that the number of homeless children in the country would be unprecedented. In addition, the loss of the adult population was so catastrophic that it became extremely important to raise the birth rate. Given these factors and the obvious role of women, in 1944 the Soviet leadership approved the Order "Motherhood".

Order of the Order

"Motherly glory" - the order, the purpose of which, in principle, is understandable. This is the difference between the valor and strength of the mother, her selfless labor. However, the awards were awarded only to those women who gave birth, and also raised from seven to nine children. The decision on awarding is taken by the Presidium of the Supreme Council, the ceremony of awarding the order itself is held on behalf of the highest executive power in the country.

The Order of "Mother's Glory" has three degrees. The highest, of course, is the first. Such a reward is given to those women who became mother nine times. According to the status of the insignia, it can be awarded only when the youngest has reached one year and all other children are alive. The Order of "Mother's Glory" of the 2nd degree is awarded if there are eight children in the family. It is also worth noting that the mother is awarded an appropriate award once, which is worn on the chest on the left side. If there are other insignia, this order hangs after them all.

The Order of "Mother Glory" of the third degree is given with the presence of seven children.

Features of rewarding

When a decision is made to present to this award, children who are legally registered under the law are also considered. And this is understandable, in the country after the war there were a lot of orphans. Children's homes, hastily formed, could not cope with such a flow. And in the same villages there were quite a few kind people who took orphans from their neighbor's yard into their family. "Motherly glory" - the order, which still must reflect the feat. And take the hungry, hard years of the destruction of other people's children in your family than not a feat?

As it follows from the awarding clause, the choice of the candidate also takes into account those children who have disappeared or died protecting their country or fulfilling their military duty, saving the lives of others, protecting state property or the rule of law. In addition, if the older children of a woman died in the performance of professional duties or injuries that were received during hostilities, the state also takes them into account.

History of occurrence

"Motherly glory" - an order that was designed and created by the famous in the Soviet Union art figure Ivan Dubasov, who headed the art department of Goznak. In parallel, the Order "Mother-heroine" and the maternity medal were established. Thus, this award in its importance was somewhere in the middle.

The first awardees were selected already on December 6, 1944, when 21 women were awarded with marks of the first degree, the second degree received 26 and the third - 27 mothers. The first three medals were given to the collective farmer (first degree), the shop assistant (second degree) and the housewife (third degree). In almost twenty years, the highest award was received by more than 753 thousand women, second and third degree orders - more than 1.5 and 2.78 million women, respectively.

By the beginning of 1995, the total number of women awarded had exceeded 5.53 million women.

Appearance

"Motherly glory" - the order, which in all three degrees was made of silver. Unlike most medals and orders, the form of this award is an oval. All three degrees differ from one another in the presence and color of enamel and gilding.

Above is the Soviet banner: at the highest award it is covered with red enamel, the second degree - blue, the third - without enamel. The name of the award and the degree are engraved on the banner. On the order of the first degree they are covered with gilding. Below, under the banner to the right is a shield with relief letters "USSR" and a small red five-pointed star in the middle and at the top. At the bottom of the shield is a sickle and a hammer in the middle. The shield on the order of the first degree is covered with white enamel. On the left side of the award is a full-length figure of a woman with a child sitting on her hands. From the bottom they are strewn with roses. On the lower plane of the order are petals, also gilded in the order of the first degree.

Order in modern times

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, almost all public institutions were destroyed or abandoned. At that time, few people were interested in the demography and the institution of the family, as such. However, in 2008 they again returned to stimulating family values. The Order "Parental Glory" was established, which in effect became an analogue of the Soviet mark of distinction, but taking into account the merits of the father. A new award is given to parents or adoptive parents, whose family is growing from four or more children. The status of the Russian order repeats the Soviet position. Specific details such as the awarding of the order are specified when the youngest child attains three years. In the case of adoptive parents, it is necessary to observe the condition of worthy maintenance of children taken from an orphanage for at least five years. It is worth noting that the order is also accompanied by a monetary reward. Initially, it was a one-time grant of fifty thousand rubles, from 2013 it is one hundred thousand.
