Mitsubishi Lancer 9 station wagon: a review, specifications and reviews
Mitsubishi Lancer is a very popular car in Russia. Despite the termination of release, the ninth generation is still in demand among motorists. Mostly these are sedans. However, universals are no less in demand. What the "Lancer-9" station wagon reviews and specifications, we will consider in the course of our today's review.
Design
For the first time this car was born in 2000. However, the design of the car is so successful that to this day it looks very harmonious and attractive.
In front of the Mitsubishi Lancer-9, the station wagon is almost identical to the sedan. All body parts in this part are interchangeable. But the situation is somewhat different from behind. What is the difference between the Lancer-9 station wagon? The tail light makes it recognizable on the road.
But those who want to pretend the look of the car and make it more recognizable, usually decide on tuning. "Lancer-9" station wagon can be equipped with disks from Evolution, as well as other bumpers, diffusers and other body kits. Very few people know, but the charged version of "Evolution" was issued not only in a body sedan - there were also versatile persons.
Dimensions, clearance
As for the dimensions, the wagon is 3 cm longer and taller than the sedan (4.5 and 1.48 meters respectively). But the width remained the same and is 1.77 meters. The ride height is 15 centimeters.
Salon
Inside everything is quite simple and without frills. Motorist meets a comfortable, three-spoke steering wheel and a practically flat center console. On the latter there is a control unit for the climate system, a radio cassette for CD, a pair of deflectors and additional sensors. On more advanced versions, a multimedia display can be located in the center.
Trunk
Another advantage of this model is a capacious trunk. "Lancer-9" station wagon can accommodate up to 1080 liters of load with folded seats. In the sedan, only 430 liters are available for use. But this is enough for an average family man.
When loading "under the shelf", without folded seats, it is placed about 344 liters of load.
Specifications
The car was supplied to the Russian market with several variants of gasoline engines. There were no diesel installations here.
So, in the basic configuration of the Mitsubishi Lancer-9, the station wagon was equipped with a 4-cylinder engine with a volume of 1299 cubic centimeters. The maximum power of this motor was 82 horsepower. The car was manned by a manual gearbox at five stages, but even with it had rather weak dynamic characteristics. "Lancer-9" station wagon was dispersed to hundreds in 13.7 seconds. And the maximum speed was 170 kilometers per hour. The only plus of this unit is low fuel consumption. "Lancer-9" station wagon with a 1.3 engine spent on a hundred 6.5 liters of fuel in a mixed cycle.
The most popular for the ninth "Lancer" is the 1.6-liter atmospheric engine, which produced 98 horsepower of power. The maximum torque of this unit is 150 Nm. Coupled with this gasoline engine, one of the two transmissions proposed by the manufacturer could work. So, the 1.6-liter station wagon was equipped with a five-speed mechanics or a four-speed automatic. Overclocking to a hundred took 11.8 and 13.6 seconds, respectively. The maximum speed varied from 176 to 183 kilometers per hour. In terms of fuel consumption, the car remained very economical. In a mixed cycle, the station wagon spent 6.7 liters on mechanics and 8.6 liters on the machine.
Chassis
The machine was built on the platform CS2A-CS9W and has a transverse placement of the engine and transmission. Viskomufta here was missing, so the drive was carried out only on the front wheels. The body is a bearing structure and is made of their high-strength steel grades. As for the suspension, the front used the classic "McPherson". At the rear was a multi-link suspension. On some modifications, the layout was used with passive steering of the rear wheels. A similar technology was previously practiced on BMW cars. To reduce side rolls, the suspension also used a stabilizer bar (both on the front and rear axle).
Steering
Steering - Rack type, supplemented with a hydraulic amplifier. At one time, rake on the ninth "Lancer" caused a lot of criticism among motorists. The fact is that the control mechanism was heavily weary inside. As a result, rake flowed, constantly demanded repair. Fortunately, now there are specialists specializing in the restoration of the rack mechanism. The cost of repair in the event of a breakdown will be up to 20 thousand rubles. The new rake for the ninth "Lancer" costs about 80 thousand rubles.
Also in the "Lancer" used anti-lock system of wheels and electronic distribution of braking forces. Over time, sensors can "drizzle". But in most cases, the fault is moisture and oxidized contacts.
Prices, complete sets
At the moment, Mitsubishi Lancer is no longer produced. And you can find it only in the secondary market. Depending on the condition and year of release (and the run here is colossal - 10 years), the price can range from 150 to 390 thousand rubles. Of course, the most expensive versions - with a two-liter engine. As for the level of equipment, the ninth Lancer had a power-assisted airbag, two airbags, four electric windows, a side mirror drive, an ABS system and, importantly, an air conditioner.
Conclusion
So, we found out what Mitsubishi Lancer has in the body of the station wagon specifications, design and price. The car is assembled quite qualitatively and has a good resource. Her only illness is rake. In the rest, Mitsubishi Lancer is a very reliable and comfortable workhorse. That's why it is so established in our region.
