The screen-partition is an excellent invention. In the living room or bedroom, it can bring a lot of benefit, and being executed in the tone of the surrounding environment, also become a stylish element of the decor. Behind the screen you can quickly change clothes (even when guests are at home), retire to read and relax. She is divided into separate zones, fences the child's crib, are used as a backdrop for home photo sessions.

Of course, a lot of screens are sold ready. On the other hand, making such an accessory with your own hands is not at all difficult. We offer you a small master-class "Shirma with your own hands". At the same time you will enjoy the process of creativity and, importantly, a thing just to taste. When creating its drawings are almost not required - this design is not so complicated.

Master-class "Shirma with your own hands". The simplest version

For the work we will reserve ready-made racking side racks, acrylic enamel of the attracted color (especially stylishly it will look black) and a brush, a pair of long piano loops (about 17 cm) or door hinges in a larger quantity (about 6 pieces) and felt or metal thrusts for chairs , As well as cloth.

At first, vertical support pillars are covered with enamel. Then the cloth is cut out in a number of plans (there will be three of them). On the upper and lower edges we leave as allowances about 10 cm, on the sides - about two. All of them are tucked and ironed.

The cloth is laid out on a flat surface with a "face" and strongly stretched. The crossbeam is placed from above, turns around the edge of the fabric, which should then be turned inside out and firmly secured with staples. Then the stretched fabric is fixed and fixed below. The operation is repeated for the rest of the screens in the same sequence.

Stands are connected with piano or door hinges, then the legs are attached to the legs. That's all - a simple screen is ready!

Master-class № 2. The variant is more complicated

Now another master class. The screen itself hands in this case is performed in a more complex technique, which requires some skills from the master. The design of our partition is several hinged frames. Filled frames can be anything. In this case, we suggest pulling on the frames a cloth painted with your own hands. But first we will take care of the supporting basis.

Having defined the dimensions (height and width), prepare the necessary number of wooden racks. The cross section can be chosen, say, 6 x 2 cm. If you are at a loss with the width, then we will suggest: the optimal size is about 65 cm. Each frame should be assembled with glue, for which special grooves are cut at the ends. They are marked on racks in width.

With the help of a hacksaw, we nail down the markings to half the depth, and select the wood with a chisel. We collect the frames, planting on the carpentry glue, fix the clamps of the joint. To the upper and lower parts of the frames we attach door hinges.

We turn to the decor

Now we will work on the cloth to which we will fill the gaps of the screen. On a monophonic material with the help of a stencil we put a drawing (for example, flowers). If you could not come up with your own ornament, the template can always be found in different sources. The stencil is cut with a wallpaper knife or a scalpel.

In the case when the children's screen is being made, you can decorate it with little animals or with any "cartoonish" motives.

In the paint bought for the textile in advance, we dip a small roller and roll the fabric along the stencil. It does not matter if the edges of the flowers come out slightly blurry. The sheet with a stencil every time we lay on a fabric in an arbitrary direction, so the picture will be more picturesque. In addition, the fabric can be additionally backed up with sewn on top elements (soft fabric colors in tone, for example, from gauze).

The fabric is stretched on the frame and fixed with a stapler. It is possible from the underside to decorate the screen with platbands from thin strips of fiberboard. By the way, it is not necessary to fill the screen with fabric. In place of it, you can insert sheets of hardboard or thin plywood (or even very dense cardboard), glued in advance with wallpaper in the tone of the walls or, conversely, contrasting. Just make sure that there is not too much variegation.

Screen-partition in Japanese style

In China and Japan, screens have always been given importance as an interior subject. According to the postulates of Buddhism, a person should not be surrounded by too much material - massive furniture and so on. Therefore, even in the rich houses of these countries, things were observed at a minimum, and light screens, painted in exquisite technique, served as one of the main points of the situation.

How to make a screen for a room in Japanese style? Such an elegant portable partition we offer you to make in one of two variants - with legs and without. Need light bars section of 5 x 2 cm, suitable fabric, furniture loops, decorative cord, clamps, glue, a hammer with a chisel, a hacksaw, paint or paint with a brush, a screwdriver (or better a screwdriver), as well as a number of screws and furniture corners. In addition, store sandpaper and a measuring instrument.

Process technology

The bars are marked and cut into segments longer and shorter - for the vertical and horizontal sides of the leaflets. The number of doors in such screens is traditionally from 6 to 8, but you can take another number.

We continue our master class. The screen with its own hands without legs is made quite simply. At the ends of the bars, we make the cuts to a depth of half their thickness (about 1 cm). Chisel choose wood, hitting it with a hammer.

Having thus processed both ends of each bar, we add them to rectangular frames, having smeared the grooves with glue before that. Before it dries, the joint is fixed with clamps. From the underside on the frame for strength, furniture corners are installed.

Another variant

If you plan to manufacture a screen on the legs, a small distance from the bottom edge of each vertical bar is left below them, the cuts for the connections are made higher. The upper ends of the laths can exactly protrude, but you can make them the same as in the first case. In the rest the frame is made similarly.

Then the frame "is brought to mind" - polished, covered with varnish or simply painted. The finished doors, connected together by loops, represent a folding "accordion".

When cutting the fabric, rectangular canvases leave allowances for processing the edge of about 2 cm, which along the entire perimeter should be sewn into the hem and make holes (however, you can confine them to only two opposite sides). The decorative cord attached to these holes is attached to the frame. Alternatively, you can take eyelets or decorative eyelets. In addition, the screen is decorated with a painting or an application.

Screen for home puppet theater

To arrange a puppet theater for a child at home - what could be more wonderful? Its obligatory element is a puppet screen - it's made without much effort by one's own hands. If you have little space, the floor version of it can be replaced with a desktop one. The details are cut from the fiberboard (they must first be drawn, agreeing all the dimensions). The ends are carefully smoked.

We can connect our parts on ribbons or ribbons, for which holes must be provided at the edges. Before that, they are desirable to paint in the same color (for example, in white - it will be elegant and beautiful). If the child has undertaken to help you, use only water based paints - they are easier to wash off.

Fabric for the screen you can take the most unthinkable colors - the more colorful, the better. The frame should not just be tightened, but sewn on it removable covers - because from time to time they will have to be washed. "The roof" (you can make it triangular in shape) can be decorated with flickering multicolored denticles - like in a real puppet theater. The screen for the theater with your own hands is ready!
