Base

By the decision of the government in 1931 in the town of Bezhitsa, Bryansk region, on a marshy wooded area, the construction of a steel plant of the Bryansk factory "Red Profintern" began. By the end of 1934, the open-hearth housing, the fire department, the boiler room, and auxiliary rooms had been rebuilt. On September 28, 1935, the brigades of Boris Laktyukhov and Pyotr Gavrilov performed the first experimental melting. After 2 months the metal was cooked already in 3 open-hearth furnaces. Also, a unique steelmaking electric furnace was built at the Bezhitsa Steel Plant. From the first portion, the bust of I.V. Stalin and the commemorative plaque.

In 1938, the branch was reorganized into independent production - Ordzhonikidzegradsky steel plant. With the outbreak of hostilities, the government decided to urgently evacuate the main technological capacities and part of the specialists to the Urals in Nizhny Tagil. At the new site began the production of tanks of the T-34 series and their modifications.

Post-war development

A month after the liberation of Bezhitsa factory workers began to restore the dilapidated shops and install equipment. The first post-war steel was welded on December 25, 1945. In 1948, the talented leader A.F. Averin. Under his leadership, a year and a half later, the Bezhitsky Steel Plant reached the pre-war level of production.

In addition to the development of the technological part, considerable attention was paid to the daily life of employees. For them, housing was built, social and cultural facilities, cultural and entertainment events were held. In just 3 years, a new micro-district of low-rise buildings has grown on the outskirts of Bezhitsa.

In 1966, the director's place occupied the namesake of the previous leader, E.K. Averin. Like his predecessor, he did a lot for the technical re-equipment of the Bezhitsa Steel Plant. Government awards for labor achievements are marked by many steelmakers. In the Soviet period, the company worked at the capacity limit. With the beginning of perestroika and the breaking of economic ties, the volume of work has decreased. In the 90s BSZ was corporatized.

New stage

In 2002 the PC "Bezhitsky Steel Mill" became part of Transmashholding. This step allowed to gain access to investments, to enter new sales markets, to work in cooperation with the profile enterprises of railway engineering.

In 2005 BSZ headed V.V. Voronin. Over the next few years, another technical re-equipment program was implemented. Old equipment is partially replaced by new automated computerized complexes.

An important achievement was the equipment of the small-scale castings section in molds from cold-hardening mixtures. Then a complex reconstruction of the foundry shop No. 3 followed, the newest machining lines for large castings were launched. New infrastructure facilities have been built.

Today the structure of production includes shops:

  • casting;
  • specialized;
  • Machine-assembly;
  • Machining.

There are 11 auxiliary sites and workshops at the plant. Quality of products is controlled by employees of a certified factory laboratory. When designing new nodes, 3-D design technology is used. Kunkel-Wagner equipment is installed on the molding line. Automated systems allow you to work on the specified parameters. Thus, the influence of the so-called "human factor" is excluded.
