Date of birth - April 14, 1955. Place of birth is Novocherkassk. His father was a Ukrainian by birth, his mother a Russian. After the termination of the first of them and till 1979 the younger brother of Alexander Lebed Served in the Byelorussian, Leningrad and Siberian military districts. 1995 - dismissal from the army. Not possessing financial resources and acquaintances in the political sphere, Lebed Alexey Ivanovich decides to participate in the election campaign in the State Duma. The old Zhiguli at that time became its main means of transportation in Khakassia. The goal was achieved, and Alexei Lebed is the deputy of the State Duma.

In 1996, when he went to the polls, issues of social protection, employment and remuneration were among the most acute and urgent. In the spring of 2002, the elder brother Alexander, the governor of the neighboring Krasnoyarsk Territory, perishes in a plane crash. Alexei Lebed proposes his candidacy for early gubernatorial elections. But it changes its decision in the last days of registration. In 2005 he became a member of the party "United Russia".

The period after the republic's leadership

After retiring in 2009, Lebed Alexei Ivanovich becomes a State Duma deputy on the lists of his party. In 2011, he announced his withdrawal from the ranks of the United Russia party. His next intention was to become the head of the republican list of the Communist Party. But beyond the plans, things did not go forward: referring to health problems, Lebed withdrew from the list and decided to stop active political activity.
