Places, enveloped in the haze of romance, always make the traveler's heart beat harder .

Geography of the region

At the junction of the Adygea and Krasnodar Krai, at a level of 2000 m, the Lagonaki uplands are located, whose sights are known far beyond the Caucasus. Its highest point is Mount Fisht (2853.9 m), the name in translation means "whitehead". Scientists believe that in the ancient ocean of Tethys it was she who was a coral island. Mountain ridges, highland massifs and small plateau highlands are separated from the rest of the Western Caucasus by steep cliffs almost from all sides. On a clear sunny day, Fisht is clearly visible not only from nearby Maykop and Sochi, but also from Krasnodar (along a straight line about 135 km).

Caves and Canyons

High up, to the most alpine meadows, an asphalt road is laid. It is on it get tourists who want to touch the mystery of Lagonaki, - the attractions are located right at the highway. First of all, this is the Great Azish cave. Of the 125 caves lurking in the mountains, it is especially visited due to its convenient location. In 1987, it was equipped on a 220 m long section: a light was connected, tracks, ladders, fences were built. Another visited cave of the highlands is Gentle, its peculiarity lies in its horizontal position, due to which it has always been inhabited. Convenience for viewing lies in the small size of the cave - 97 m in length and 7 m in depth. There are a lot of canyons in Lagonaki, but the most accessible of them is the Great granite. Located on the site of the Belaya River, it is known for the fact that its walls are lined with nature itself from stone of different shapes and colors. The tourists can hardly visit the canyon of the river Tsitsa because of its inaccessibility - you can get there only by water.

Lakes

Until 2012, many tourists stopped on the shore of Lake Pshenodah, in the shape of a crescent moon. In the translation from Circassian, the name means "a beautiful well". It is interesting that a lake several dozen centimeters deep sometimes forms funnels, which are well visible through the surface of crystal water. At present, tourists are prohibited from approaching the Pseododa pond closer than 400 m: the authorities take care of preserving the natural natural balance of Lagonaki, the sights are strictly protected by law.

Historical places of interest

The list of natural wonders of these places seems to be inexhaustible - the map of Lagonaki with sights is literally rugged with pointers of interesting places. Interesting places in this region are not limited to man-made creations. At an altitude of 633.2 m is the Andreevskaya gully and the A. Andreev obelisk erected on the site of the battle with the fascists in 1942. A bridge built by the Cossacks in 1906 was spilled across the Dakh River. It is also considered an architectural monument. The bridge survived to this day only thanks to the solution that the stones fastened: egg white and milk gave an unusual strength to the structure.

The infrastructure of the mountainous region is in the development stage, and this is understandable: many predict this big future for the resort, comparing it with the Alps. Lagonaki, whose attractions are so diverse and numerous, is destined to become part of the "Resorts of the North Caucasus" project in the near future.
