Krasnoyarsk, "Stolby" (reserve): official site, photo, address

The diploma of the first international contest "The Best City of the CIS" can be proud of Krasnoyarsk. "Pillars" also brought him world fame.

Central city of Eastern Siberia

Krasnoyarsk is not only the capital of the province of the same name, but also the center of the East Siberian economic region, the second by the area of the subject of the Russian Federation. It was founded in 1628 and became the largest of the ancient Siberian cities. It can be called a city of students. Over 150,000 young people study at local universities. The city has many other advantages. But the main thing that Krasnoyarsk is proud of is the "Pillars", which are a miracle of nature, admired by the native of these places, the artist VI Surikov: "I saw the Alps Swiss and Italian, but nowhere did I see such beauty as this ..."

Nature of the reserve

About a hundred rocks that are remnants (individual arrays consisting of elevated relief elements) with a height of 60 to 600 meters, are located to the south-west of the city. These are very ancient rocks - they are millions of years old (according to some data - 450, others - 600). They refer to the period when active volcanic activity was on the Earth. In certain places, magma raised the upper layers of land cover (soil, limestone, etc.) and crystallized there. Then, for an infinitely long time, this loose surface was blown out, washed away, simply destroyed under the influence of the atmosphere, and the magma itself remained, which for the same reasons (the action of water, wind, etc.) assumed rather bizarre forms. A large Siberian research center, a branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, under constant supervision and study, is a reserve, the location of which is Krasnoyarsk. "Pillars" glorified the city far beyond Russia due to its uniqueness and pristine charm. They consist of pink syenite, which is a magmatic rock. It differs from granite with a lower silica content. "The hard tops of syenites, the sons of the winds," - as the poet wrote. "Pillars" are called so because some of them really resemble columns. And, say, the mountain-remains in Crimea under the name Tepe-Kermen, located not far from Bakhchisaray, has the form of a regular truncated cone. Nature has an inexhaustible imagination, an example of which is the elephant elephant with a height of 7 meters, meeting visitors and "stolbists" at the entrance to this quaint natural zone, which belongs to the responsibility zone of the city of Krasnoyarsk. "Pillars" - the State Nature Reserve, which recently in urgent need of system security measures.

Geographical position

Founded in 1925, it now occupies a territory of 47,154 hectares, which is located in the interfluve of the right tributaries of the Yenisei: the Manas (the largest, the broadest and fastest), Bazaikha and the Great Sliznevi. From the south-east to the north-west the reserve is crossed by a mountain watershed, consisting of a chain of ridges. Kaidynsky (stretches almost 11 km, height over 700 m), Takmakovsky, Listvyazhny, near which the Stolbin Highlands are located, serve as a continuation of each other and all together constitute a twisty arc. The Otkliknaya Range rises from the upland, near which there is a reserve, which has a cave in the north-western part 200 meters deep with an underground lake and a ramified system of tunnels. The entire mountain range belongs to the foothills of the Eastern Sayan mountains.

An exception

Usually, the protected areas are closed for visits, but the exception is the nature reserve "Stolby" (Krasnoyarsk). Photos of numerous tourists - to that testimony. However, the part that is open to visiting is only 3% of the reserve territory, the rest of the area is occupied by the "Wild Pillars", access to which is limited. These 3% can be conditionally divided into three sections: a rock complex "Takmak", a cable-chairlift along the ski-run and a fanpark "Bobrovy Log".

Stolbism is a local invention

A unique movement, representing a branch of rock climbing, originated here, in the reserve, 150 years ago. And although the local cliffs-ostantsy mostly do not look like lighting and poles for a fence, Krasnoyarsk and its inhabitants began to call the reserve exactly like this - "Pillars". And the movement, respectively, was called "stolbism." It eventually acquired its own subculture, but it has absolutely amateur status. Obviously, local residents climbed on rocks and in antiquity, but the official date for the emergence of "stolbism" is considered to be 1851, in which the educator of the Vladimir shelter Kapin conquered the "First pillar", and then strengthened achieved together with brave pupils. The movement has its own history. Stolbists believe that rock climbing, including professional, began here. Famous for the whole world mountaineers brothers Abalakovs, who invented a tourist backpack, began their journey in the "Pillars". The climber was Nastya Kachalova, who climbed in the Lapte in 1894 to the "Elephant", the conquest of which is considered a necessary school for any stolbist.

Country of stolbists

The amateur movement has its own code, strict rules (you can not use any equipment), history. The most favorite place is the "Chinese Wall", located at the foot of "Takmak" in the valley of the Bazaikha River. Here is the rock "Ermak" and several smaller remains under the general name "Vorobushki", among which there are "Tsypa" and "Toad". "Central pillars" consist of unique rocks, each of which has its own name: "Lion's Gate", pillars under the numbers - from the first to the fourth, "Grandfather", "Feathers", "Minsk Baba", etc. All of them occupy the territory 5 x 10 km and are located 7 km from the border of the reserve.

Local Zoo

In 2000, the Zoo was established in the reserve, which was named "Roev Ruchey" in its location. In the 30s of the XIX century, Siberia was covered with gold rush. One of the places where "dug" and extracted the precious metal, were "Pillars". And without gold it was the richest region of Siberia - according to the data for 1833, only 67 sables were mined here, and 43 foxes. In the immediate vicinity of the border of the city, in the valley of the Bazaikha River, two ski runs with the names "Bobrovy Log" and "Kashtak" pass.

Sung in verse and song

To realize the love of citizens to their main attractions, you need to see how many people visit the Stolby reserve in Krasnoyarsk on Sundays (Krasnoyarsk). Photo attached. Love is confirmed by poems, songs and prose works that can not be counted. "Of all the milestones I've passed," Pillars "- one second. I distinguish them from all the beauties of my native land, "- so enthusiastic the Krasnoyarsk poet F. Yavorsky, who dedicated several cycles to them. Galina Rukosueva described in verse an ancient local legend about the mighty Tsar Yenisei. V. Gavryushkin equates his love for the "Pillars" to the feelings he himself feels for friends, women and children. There are a lot of legends dedicated to these sculptures. Each rock, every corner of the reserve has its own mythical history: "A world where miracles miracles quietly dormant secret tales".
