Can I use naftizine during pregnancy?

It is best not to resort to the help of vasodilator drugs and do not treat the common cold with folk methods at home without consulting a specialist. After all, anyone, both folk and medicinal product can be unsafe for the baby.

Naphthyzine drops enter the general bloodstream and cause narrowing of all blood vessels in the body, including the placenta, which can lead to hypoxia of the fetus. Of course, the opinions of experts in this matter are divided. Some advise not to use naftizine at all during pregnancy, and to use for treatment of the common cold only saline solutions and salt compounds. These drugs do not contain any medicines and are a medical analogue of home treatment methods.

Other doctors allow the use of naphthyzine in pregnancy if the runny nose has a viral origin, but only as a last resort, if the people's sparing methods do not help.

Pregnant women with naftizine should always observe the frequency and strictly follow the indicated dosage. It is important to remember that drops can not be used for more than 3 days in a row. It is recommended to bury naphthysine in the nose just before bedtime, so that the runny nose does not interfere with the sleep of the future mother and fetus.
