Kohler is a pigment that imparts the required color to the paint

Planning to renovate the room or the whole house, the owners want to get the desired paint color, but it is not always easy to purchase it. And in this case, to help come color - this is the most optimal way to get the right shade.

Features of choice

A lot of customers of building stores are interested in the question: "What is color?". The answer is quite simple and understandable. Kohler is a product characterized by a rich and contrasting color, which subsequently gives the paint the necessary unique shade. Kohler is characterized by:

  • Maximum ease of application;
  • Speed of drying;
  • Excellent light fastness;
  • Wide range of shades;
  • A high index of adhesion to the surface of various types (wood, brick, concrete, etc.).

The process of choosing a color scheme is more complicated than it seems at first glance. Even for professionals with years of experience, the exact creation of the required shade requires considerable effort. The map of colors and shades, available in most building stores, will help to easily determine the choice. However, do not forget about the influence of room lighting: the brightness of light when selecting a color should match the brightness of the lighting in the room where the painting is done. Neglect of this factor leads to a different shade than you planned.

Methods of coloring

You can achieve the desired shade of paint, using color, in two ways:

  • Independent tinting;
  • Mixing of paint with a color by means of a coloring machine.

The choice of this or that method of obtaining color depends on a number of factors. For example, it would be advisable to use a tinting device to obtain a large amount of paint: a special computer program calculates the amount and volume of the color itself to give the desired shade. In the case of using the method of mixing by hand, it is almost impossible to achieve the same result and obtain the necessary shade once again.

Toning at home is often carried out in the case of the need to create a complex color (consisting of several colors and shades) or when choosing a shade to the existing elements of the interior. In any case, the use of color is the ability to get the desired shade for the transformation of the room.

Subtlety of self-tinting

Before mixing the color with the paint, you need to thoroughly study the instructions and comply with the requirements for the time of the action. It must be remembered that the connection should be performed no more than 120 minutes before the painting or immediately before it. Violation of this rule of color mixing is the risk of settling of the pigment added and subsequent distortion of the finished paint structure.

Thoroughly mix the colors with a small amount of white paint, then pour the resulting mixture into the bulk of the paint. Mix must be circular continuous movements. In this way, the mixture will be as homogeneous as possible.

Briefly about the benefits

In order to make the right choice of a universal coloring paste, it is necessary to study a number of its main features:

  • After application on a surface of a material the film is not formed and its thickening is excluded;
  • Versatility in use;
  • Possibility to combine with binding dyes;
  • Availability of resistance to low temperatures;
  • High moisture resistance.

Using a coloring paste will significantly increase the color gamut in the paint structure.

Types of colors

Colors of color are combined with the paint with or without a binder.

Types of coloring paste without binders:

  • Pigment type, which is widely used in wood processing (priming, impregnation);
  • Water-emulsion type, diluted with a solvent;
  • Alkyd, whitewash, water-dispersion, oil types of pastes;
  • Pastes for enamel with polyurethane, silicone compounds.

In the process of adding color to the ink compositions, it is necessary to make the most accurate calculation of the proportion of proportions:

  1. In the presence of oil in the paints, the coloring paste, which enters the structure, should have a proportion of not more than 1.5%.
  2. Paste, which is part of the water-based paints, should be contained in the final composition no more than 20%.
  3. The remaining types of paints can have about 5% of this material in their composition.

A small percentage of the color to the composition of the colorful material only affects the color tone.

Disadvantages of some types of coloring paste are: instability to chemical compounds and ultraviolet light (however, acrylic coloring is highly resistant to ultraviolet radiation). Pigment with the presence of inorganic base is very resistant to external effects, but color saturation is noticed. The cost of the material will depend on the area of use of the material and the type of pigments in its composition.

Choosing a color scheme of one type or another is an action that depends solely on the user's preferences, needs and capabilities. In any case, compliance with all the rules for the acquisition, breeding and application of this pigment will allow to carry out repair work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
