JSC "Balashikha Foundry-Mechanical Plant" (BLMZ): products, address, location map

JSC "Balashikha Foundry-Mechanical Plant" is a unique for Russia production of magnesium, titanium and aluminum shaped castings, including the possibility of high-precision machining. The company has mastered thousands of parts with supplies to domestic and foreign companies from Israel, Italy, Scandinavian countries.

Becoming

Balashikhinsky foundry-mechanical plant was created in the turbulent period of industrialization. Year of the 1931st. The first decision on construction was signed. The site was selected to the north-east of the village of Reutovo, in the Gorenki village of Reutov district (now the 19th km of Gorkovskoye Highway, M7 highway).

Year 1932-th. The design of the object began: the scheme of travel, the layout of the working buildings, residential quarters, and infrastructure was developed. Parallel to this, the first 60 people of the future of many thousands of people began to clear the forest and fill the reservoirs. February 22 issued a decree of the Council of People's Commissars No. 199/40 on the attribution of construction to the number of shock construction sites. The decision presupposed a special supply of materials, clothing, food.

Construction of a factory

On April 25, 1932, the very first stone was laid in the foundation of the mechanical building of the future OJSC "BLMZ". Next, the construction of a working village began. In the area of the modern streets of Victory, Soviet, Peace, Lenin Prospect, residential barracks were built. In one of the barracks, an educational combine was organized, where turners, milling cutters, modelers, moulders, drivers, draftsmen, and constructors were trained in short-term courses.

Year 1933-th. The construction of the main foundry began. The first 5-storey brick house (Highway Entuziastov, d. 5/1) was erected, 33 barracks, a boiler room was put into operation, and an evening school of working youth was opened.

Production start

In 1933, the Balashikha Foundry and Mechanical Plant started production of pilot products - spokes and aircraft control valves. During the year, 1455 aircraft wheels were produced. In parallel, the infrastructure was improving: the construction of a bath, a hotel, a club, five-story brick houses was started. The first issue of the factory newspaper was published.

The expansion of the enterprise was progressive:

  • Year 1934-th. Three spans of the mechanical case are built. The country's first independent design office for take-off and landing devices is being created.
  • Year 1935th. A temporary foundry is organized in the boiler room. The first aluminum castings were produced.
  • Year 1937th. In April, the first line of the main casting case was launched.
  • Year 1938-th. Serial production of aluminum and magnesium castings for engines and aircraft has been started.
  • Year 1939-th. The plant is characterized as one of the largest non-ferrous casting plants that are not yet in Europe and America.
  • Year 1940. The chill case has been put into operation. The village of Pervomaisky was completely built, the kindergarten-day nursery, the school-ten-year-old opened.

It was truly a shock building on a competently chosen construction site. The road map was extremely successful: the Moscow-Balashikha road connected factory workers with research institutes, design offices, administrative structures of the capital. The railway made it possible to deliver bulky goods. Workers came from nearby areas. Every year, along with the construction of an industrial facility, the accompanying residential infrastructure unfolded.

World War II

In the first months of the war the Balashikha Foundry and Mechanical Plant had to be evacuated urgently. Already in early July, echelons carried away unique equipment, people to Nizhny Tagil, Kamensk-Urals (mechanical production), Kazan, Ufa, Kuibyshev (foundry). In October, the plant was evacuated.

The plant began to be rebuilt immediately after the battle for Moscow, in December. The equipment and machines were assembled at nearby Reutovo, Obaralovka (Zheleznodorozhnaya) stations. Women and adolescents came to the workshops and did all the hard work. Already in February the plant produced the first defense products.

For 4 years of the WWII, aviation components manufactured at the plant were delivered to 137,000 combat aircraft. Also, repairs were made to the wheels for aircraft, the conversion of the wheels of downed Junkers and Messerschmitts for installation on Soviet vehicles. Only in the first days of the war 40 factory workers joined the Balashikha Fighter Battalion, 1300 went to the front.

Post-war development

The experience of the war demanded an unprecedented pace to develop defense industries, including aircraft construction. The design office of the landing equipment is allocated from the BLMZ to an independent enterprise, which is now known as the air corporation Rubin.

After the war, the Balashikha Foundry and Mechanical Plant became the serial main producer of wheels, brakes, brake control units. Develops new designs for the rapidly developing aircraft industry, supplies spare parts to military and civilian consumers.

Achievements

JSC "Balashikha Foundry-Mechanical Plant" is still the leading domestic center for non-ferrous casting. On its basis a whole scientific school of shaped magnesium casting was formed. The work of specialists is marked by the State Prize and the first degree diploma of the Exhibition of Economic Achievements.

The plant was the first in the country shop powder metallurgy for the production of friction products. The manufacture of aluminum castings was set up for the on-line production, including within the framework of the program for the development of the domestic automotive industry.

The company has two top state awards on its account:

  • 1976 - the Order of the Red Banner of Labor for the great industrial successes and selfless labor of the collective;
  • 1982 - the Order of the October Revolution for the development of new aircraft, the supply of castings and units for the IL-85.

Today's Day

The aviation enterprise of OJSC "BLMZ" successfully develops the production of the most complicated casting for car engines. The plant is a scientific and technical base of a completely new direction - the production of shaped castings from titanium alloys. And this is the scientific laboratory, and the newest equipment. A new workshop has been built for these tasks, successfully working on the Russian and foreign markets.

At the factory operates a vocational school, a technical school and an evening institute. The administration modernizes existing manufactures, constantly introduces new areas, involving design institutes and purchasing the newest, including foreign, equipment.

Specialization

The enterprise is engaged in the serial production of aircars, brakes, units for civil and military aircraft, including Il models (models 86, 76, 62 and others), Yak, An, Tu, Kamov and Mil helicopters. Today the plant re-equips production with a new generation of equipment. In recent years, high-tech machining of metals of all types (color, black, alloys) has been introduced, and casting with machining is being improved.

Modernization yields fruits. For example, the supplier of brake wheels and aggregates for the production of the new Russian transport Il-76MD-90 at OJSC Ulyanovsk Aviastar-SP was chosen by OAO BLMZ. Also mutually beneficial is cooperation with AMNTK "Soyuz" OJSC - joint development of take-off and landing devices is under way.

Export

A large volume of Russian-made aircraft is operated abroad. Last year, the volume of Russian arms exports amounted to $ 15.7 billion. It is gratifying that the Balashikha plant, which benefits from exports, also contributes to this sphere. The provision of military equipment with products manufactured by BLMZ is carried out through Rosoboronexport and enterprises that have the relevant documents. The provision of civilian equipment is carried out through the OJSC Aviazapchast.
