It is useful to know: what are they drinking from?

Table etiquette is unbelievably interesting, but at the same time an extremely complicated thing. If you look at the table, served according to all necessary canons, your eyes will scatter already at the stage of looking at all kinds of instruments, what can we say about a variety of glasses, glasses, wine glasses. Let's discuss what is drunk from all the norms of etiquette.

At home, this, of course, not for everyone is actual - most often we manage to set a glass-glass-glass. But sometimes it happens that in the long term visit a formal event, whether it's a corporate party, a business lunch in a restaurant, a reception on the occasion of important guests or someone else's wedding. In these cases, it is not superfluous to know which glasses are intended for which drinks.

In everyday life, there are three types of drinking containers: glasses, wine glasses and wine glasses.

- Glasses are thin-walled vessels for drinks. They can be for champagne (such a glass of elongated conical shape or looks like a croissant), for fruit and berry juices, fruit and milk cocktails, as well as for wine and beer.

- Wine glasses - a glassware used for water or fruit drinks. They look like a glass on a high leg.

- Glasses - glasses on a small foot of small volume, intended for strong alcoholic beverages (vodka, Madeira, cognac, Reyntveyn, liqueurs). Also under this category are containers for cocktails or strong drinks without a stem, which are called a stack or shot.

So, what are they drinking from? Wine, like champagne, is drunk, undoubtedly, from glasses. For different types of wine, the shape of the glasses will vary. Also it should be remembered that in a glass white wine is poured on 2/3 of volume, and red - only on 1/3. And it would be a very gross mistake to use wine from narrow champagne glasses.

For beer, three types of dishes are equally used : glasses, mugs and glasses. What is the difference? The easiest way to understand what is drunk in this case is to remember that the mug is a man's tank for draft beer. From the glasses beer is drunk by ladies, and glasses are not intended for draft beer, but for bottles.

Glasses and wine glasses for non-alcoholic cocktails and water can be of various shapes. If the glass is on the stem, it usually has a straight shape and a volume of 200 milliliters. A glass without a leg can slightly expand upwards or can have a straight, high shape (such glasses are called highball and are often used for serving cocktails or other strong drinks).

For hot alcoholic drinks such as grog, krushona or mulled wine, as well as for alcoholic cocktails based on tea or coffee, special glass bowls with handles are used.

In the case of wine glasses, what is being drunk from is understandable. For different alcoholic drinks they differ in form. Glasses for cognac, for example, have a clear pear-shaped shape and a volume of 25 to 125 milliliters. Depending on the context, cognac is served in small or large forms - and a large one is intended for a long "kissing" of the drink after a conversation or a game of playing cards. Cognac is poured into it on 1/4 volume, no more.

Glasses for vodka can be either on legs or piles of various shapes. Cocktails are usually made of smooth cylindrical shots without a leg, but with a handle, up to 100 milliliters. Whiskey is most often served in special glasses with a thick bottom of a straight form. But liqueur glasses always have a small leg, but they differ very intricate shapes.
