Incubation of chicken eggs - practical advice of a specialist

Increasing importance today is the incubation of eggs. After all People who engage in poultry, often do not want to wait for the poultry itself to "think" about the continuation of the genus. Yes, and hatching eggs with a club often leads to a strong chicken weight loss. Moreover, she does not carry a brood during this period and during lessons. Losses are quite noticeable!

In addition, the incubation of chicken eggs can become a decent business for the villager! If you bring the hatching of the chickens to 85% (and this is real!), You can count: the cost of the egg is 5 rubles, the chicken is 30 rubles. Further calculations depend on the volume of the incubator.

Immediately, it should be clarified that the view that a bird hatched by an incubator can not later breed chickens. This is far from true! From hatchery chickens, eggs for which are taken from village chickens, grow beautiful chicken-klushki. And this opinion was erroneous due to the fact that the poultry farms specially brought out such a breed of hens that do not sit on eggs - an industrial necessity. Here from such eggs or from eggs taken from such chickens, offspring are obtained "nonchalant". Although this is still far from a fact.

So, what adaptations are needed to tackle this interesting business, called "incubation of chicken eggs." Of course, in the first place - the incubator. You can buy it already ready, but you can do it yourself.

There are two versions of self-made incubators: from a wooden box (you can from an old chest of drawers) and from an old refrigerator. The main thing here is thermal insulation, heater and thermostat. The last device is best to buy, although some craftsmen do them manually.

Incubation of chicken eggs occurs at a certain temperature, which can range from 37.2 degrees to 38.7. If the temperature keeps at a low level, then the period of the hatchlength is prolonged, and the chicks hatch weak. At a constantly high temperature, the incubation period is significantly reduced, but there is a possibility of the appearance of blind birds. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly shift the eggs, changing their places to "level" the heat they have received.

In a refrigerator or a box, put electric bulbs, preferably 25 watts, which are connected in series with the thermostat and connected to the network. If the volume of the incubator is large (refrigerator), then you can use two temperature regulators, since you will need to measure degrees in different places.

The optimal mode of incubation of chicken eggs is not constant throughout the term. The first two or three days of eggs should "warm up", so you should raise the temperature to 39 - 29.5 degrees. In the second half of the incubation period, the embryos themselves begin to release heat, so they should be taken out to the open air from time to time so that the eggs "rest" and "breathe". After all, the chickens sometimes go "pores", leaving their unhatched children "unattended."

The second important factor responsible for the incubation of chicken eggs was of high quality is compliance with the moisture regime. In the factory incubators special water-filled pans are provided, which, by their evaporation, supposedly maintain the desired humidity. However, practice proves that this is not enough.

Therefore, every day, additionally wet the surface of eggs with water. You can simply dunk them in a basin of water, then put in place without wiping. And you can use a spray gun.

Also, do not forget that eggs need to be turned over from time to time, at least once a day. But it is better, if the eggs are located at the acute end down at an angle of 45 degrees - this position is the most optimal, and the overturning here is required minimum, since the growth of the embryo to the shell or its incorrect position will not be.

In a refrigerator, independently converted to an incubator, you can withdraw up to 300 chickens at a time, laying eggs in several rows on one shelf. True, it will be necessary to frequently ventilate the "premise" inside the incubator, and also watch carefully that the upper eggs do not crush the newborn chick that will be in the lower row.

Therefore, it is recommended to lay eggs not all at once, but in batches of 50 pieces with an interval of 3 days, putting a pencil on the shell mark with the date of the bookmark. When there are 5 days left until the hatching, the egg should be moved to the "freezer" - the temperature is lower and the chicken will not be injured: it will not fall down, it will not get stuck in the net, the door or between the eggs.
