RelationsInfidelity

If a person betrayed once, does it mean that he betrays again?

If your loved one has changed you once, there is a good chance that this will happen again. According to a new study, people who cheat their partners, are 3.5 times more likely to change their loved ones in the following respects. At the same time, people who have fallen prey to infidelity in past relationships tend to be deceived again.

Will betrayal happen again?

The study was conducted at the University of Denver. It was attended by 484 people between the ages of 18 and 34 who are married. It was found that treason is just one of the models of agonizing relationships.

People who in the past had experience of aggressive relationships, have more chances to repeat them than others. The study also showed that physically aggressive partners who can raise their voices or fight are three times more likely than others to tolerate such behavior for the following relationship. At the same time, their partners are five times more likely to become victims again.

Unfortunately, infidelity in relationships is a common phenomenon: 33% of men and 19% of women confess that they have cheated on their partners. This survey was conducted in 2013, and it was attended by 100 thousand people.

Statistical data

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, almost one in four women experienced violence from their intimate partner. This includes physical and sexual violence, harassment and psychological aggression.

We like to think that we can benefit from our experience and mistakes, especially when it comes to love, as the authors of the study say. However, more research is needed as well as clinical interventions to help people abandon bad habits in relationships. Judging by gloomy statistics, one can only hope that this will help in the near future.
