House-Museum of V. I. Dal

V. I. Dal was a native of Lugansk, that's why the literary museum in honor of the writer was opened here. They opened the museum in 1986 on November 22. The building itself is an architectural monument of the early 19th century. The exposition is located on 60 square meters. The total area of the museum is 100 square meters. In the center of the cozy courtyard stands the writer's bust. The artistic project was created by NA Monastyrskaya. In the exhibition, she was able to present different eras. Objects of everyday life date back to the 19th century, rare manuscripts and editions of past centuries are also represented here. You can also appreciate the works of talented artists of modern Luhansk region.

Natural attractions. Lugansk

There is an opinion that Eastern Ukraine is not so rich in natural diversity, so there is really nothing to look at here. But this is not so. And a good example is the Lugansk region. Sights here are available in huge numbers, especially natural masterpieces. Here you can look at the rocks that once glaciers moved, and on earthworks, which by age exceed the pyramids in Egypt. Of particular interest are the numerous reserves and parks for recreation. This is not all the attractions of Lugansk. A description of some of them will be given below.

Mergelyov Range

This attraction is also called "Lugansk Stonehenge". This monument of ancient archeology refers to the bronze period. A huge sanctuary is lined with slabs, beneath which are burials. The mounds look impressive.

The history of the formation of this complex is not fully known. One legend says that it was a place of worship of the sun of an ancient settlement.

The monument is located near the village of Stepanovka in the Perevalsky district. It is not so far to get to, as, for example, to Stonehenge or to the Egyptian pyramids, and you can get the same impression.

Kiseleva girder

What attractions in Lugansk deserve special attention? Stanichno-Luhansky district is famous for a place where once a real miracle happened. In this place many years ago, the blind child saw the blind. Later, in 1924, many pilgrims who passed by saw the image of the Virgin Mary in the sky. In ten years, this phenomenon was repeated. Then it began to repeat more and more often. In this place there are many healing springs. The tract is in the steppe and completely overgrown with forest. This is a kind of oasis.

Early in the morning, when the sun rises, each source produces its own unique sound. It seems that the whole chorus is coming from under the ground. Underground keys form sour and salty streams. One heals from internal diseases (salty), and the other - from diseases of the musculoskeletal system. In the place of the convergence of the two streams a bathing-place was built. Water here never changes its temperature. Kiseleva Balka became famous not only for the whole of Ukraine, it is known in the near abroad. In the people of Kiselev, the girder is called real Jerusalem.

Manor of Mtsihovsky

The architectural structure, dating back to the 19th century, is located in a small village of Lugansk region - Seleznevka. Nearby is Alchevsk. The settlement was founded by Kazimierz Mtsihovsky. It was he who was the last who owned the estate, and also was the developer of all the buildings of the architectural complex.

The estate was designed by the architect Sergey Ginger. This is his most successful creation. The estate was built in the style of an Italian villa in 1840.

The farmstead is located in the once picturesque park. For today its condition is started. However, some species of rare vegetation are still preserved. The park itself is a monument of garden art.

Initially, the park looked after the fellow countryman Mtsihovskogo - Marcin Hubetsky. With his hands and was built a park. The gardener gave his whole life to his business and did not even get married. He was buried in the territory of the estate.

In times of perestroika, the estate was badly damaged by marauders. They disassembled it in parts in the literal sense of the word. But something still remains and worthy of attention of the tourist who wants to visit all the sights of the Lugansk region.

Park of stone statues

Museum of Polovtsian women or a monument of sculptures made of stone is considered one of the main attractions of Lugansk. You can see the monument by visiting the Lugansk National University, in whose territory it is located. The sculpture monument is a collection of stone statues of the 12th century.

These sculptures were collected from all over the region, because this is a unique opportunity to see a huge number of statues of antiquity in one place. Initially, the statues were on the hills. Legends say that the ancient peoples built them.

The park museum will tell you about ancient heroes, gods, believed by past generations, as well as about the life of ancient peoples. This is an amazing chance to open the door of the past and find out what the ancient disappeared people lived.

Lugansk Nature Reserve

The purpose of creating a nature reserve was to preserve the natural state of a unique natural complex.

The reserve is a hectare of land planted with various plants. Here you can find valuable plants of steppe and forest zones.

The natural flora of the reserve includes up to 1900 species of plants. Some of them are listed in the Red Book.

The natural reserve has become a habitat for more than 2500 species of animals.

The territory of the reserve is huge. It is divided into four branches. One is located in the Stanichno-Luhansky district (Stanichno-Luganskoe), another in the Melovsky district (Streltsov steppe), the third in the Sverdlovsk region (Provalskaya steppe), and the fourth in the Slavyanoserbsky and Novoaydarsky districts (the Trihezben steppe).

Monument to Prince Igor

The Lugansk land is rich and monuments to famous people. One such is Prince Igor. The monument was discovered relatively recently, in 2003. It is located in a small village Stanichno-Luganskoye. The monument to the 65th anniversary of the formation of the Lugansk region is timed. Why was Prince Igor chosen to commemorate this event? It was from this steppe that his campaign began, described in the work "The Lay of Igor's Host".

The 14-meter monument is made of concrete, on top is covered with bronze paint. It is installed on a raised platform, so it's hard not to notice it. The monument is a visiting card of Lugansk. It symbolizes the valor, friendship and brotherhood of the Slavic people.

Monument to Bender

The story of Ostap Bender and Kisa Vorobyaninov began precisely with Lugansk region. The city of Starobelsk in the Lugansk region is a prototype of Stargorod. There, in 2008, a monument to Ostap Bender was erected. Opposite the monument is the former women's gymnasium. Today it is one of the faculties of Lugansk National University.

The authorship of the monument belongs to Andrei Borovoy. This is not just a monument - it's a whole composition that reflects the picture of Bender's appearance in Stargorod and his communication with the homeless.

Monument Vorobyaninovu is located in the same city, in the park, in front of the arch of the corner building of the central street. The monument was opened in 2011.

Lugansk Art Museum

The museum is located on Pochtovaya Street in Lugansk. The museum building dates back to the second half of the 19th century. The house itself, in which the museum is located, belonged to the Venderoviches - the famous industrialists.

The museum was founded in 1920. The cultural monument appeared thanks to the idea of Ukrainian art historians Volsky and Istomin. Exhibits for the museum were imported from all corners of Ukraine and near abroad. Among them there are also antique furniture, and art objects, and kitchen utensils, and even items made of semiprecious metals.

The museum experienced several stages of its development. At first it was a museum of painting, later - the Social Museum of Donbass. Then it was transformed into a museum of local lore. During the Second World War most of the exhibits of the museum suffered.

After the war, it was decided to create a museum of fine art in Lugansk. At first he wore a mobile character, but in 1951 the museum was provided with his premises, and he was actively filled with exhibits.

Lugansk and Luhansk region are famous for such interesting places. About the region, the history of which is rich in various events, there are many more things to tell.

The very name of the city appeared not accidentally. Through extensive meadows, the Lugan River flows. She is a viviparous source for this land. The banks of this river began to be populated by people in the Stone Age. These were the first settlements, which today turned into a whole regional center - Lugansk. The city is famous for its industrial achievements. Most of the factories and industrial enterprises of Eastern Ukraine are concentrated here. The very appearance of the city began with the erection of an iron foundry on this land by the decree of Catherine II. The date of the decree is considered the official date of the founding of the city.

It is necessary to visit the city of Lugansk. Its sights in the current conditions are not as accessible as before, but still something can be seen.
