How to plant a strawberry and be always with a crop?

Strawberries need to be planted every 3-4 years to rejuvenate planting and maintain a good level of yield.

Before planting strawberries, you first need to prepare a garden. The preparation consists in digging up the soil and introducing humus.

For strawberries, it is desirable to choose a garden where tomatoes, cucumbers, garlic, onions or legumes grew earlier.

How to properly plant a mustache with strawberries?

If you decide to plant a strawberry mustache, then you need to select, in about a year, the bushes that are abundantly fruitful. Next year, it is necessary to pick flowers from these bushes, and let the mustache grow and form rosettes.

After the formation of the first outlet, it should be pinned to the ground with the stud so that the rootlets are quickly adopted. The same must be done with the second outlet. At each mustache, the first two or three rosettes should be used for seedlings. Subsequent can no longer live or give a weak harvest.

So the seedlings are ready, but how to plant strawberries? Nothing complicated in this. Young bushes are carefully separated from the main plant. Dig them out with a lump of earth and immediately land on a prepared bed.

After planting, the plant should be watered and then it should be done every day for a week.

There is a second way to plant a mustache in a strawberry. The rosette, which has appeared on a mustache, without tearing it from the bush, is gently fixed with a hairpin in a glass, for example, from yoghurt or sour cream. Of course, beforehand the cup is filled with earth. The soil in the glass should be kept moist at all times, so that the root system develops well. When the seedlings give from 4 to 6 leaves, it is carefully separated from the mother bush and transferred to the garden.

How to plant strawberries by dividing a bush?

A small or indistinct strawberry can be planted by dividing. The adult bush should be divided into several parts. The main condition - that on each part there were roots, let only a few. It is desirable to cut off the leaves so that the plant directs all forces to form a root system.

After planting such a seedling, the soil must be kept moist.

How to arrange strawberries: what else do you need to know?

It is best to eat strawberries in the evening, when the sun is not so hot, or in cloudy weather. If the next day the heat is established, it would be good to cover the seedlings, for example, with hay, thus creating a shadow for it.

Plant plants should be at a distance no closer than 30-35 cm from each other, between rows should be not less than 50 cm. It is necessary to provide young bushes with a place for growth.

A week after planting, it is recommended to fertilize the strawberry with a solution of chicken manure (dilute it in water). Water should be between the rows.

During August it is useful to conduct several loosening of the soil to ensure the flow of oxygen to the roots. Then the ground between the young plants should be covered up. For this purpose, the pre-grass or needles, hay or straw are suitable. Mulching, first, helps to retain moisture, and secondly, protects against weeds.

Strawberries in this way in the spring will give its first harvest.
