It is most convenient to study the continents and water areas with the mock-up of the globe. However, not everyone has the opportunity to purchase a ready-made globe. Then you can feel yourself a creator and make the planet itself in miniature. And you can make it in several ways. Consider how to make the globe with your own hands out of paper.

Preparatory stage

Lay down newspapers, unwanted papers or a special oilcloth on which you are going to make a table. Prepare all the necessary materials in order to not be distracted in their search for them.

You will need:

• Pots;
• Glass containers;
• a spoon;
• Water - five glasses;
• Flour - one cup;
• Newspapers or consumer paper;
• balloon;
• primer;
• Brushes;
• Paints (acrylic or gouache, diluted with PVA glue);
• scissors;
• hot glue;
• Sleeve from toilet paper;
• Plastic plate (cake stand).

A globe needs a foundation. So you need to figure out how to make a ball of paper with your own hands. Ideally, you need a round balloon. Choose the diameter with which you want to make a globe. Inflate the ball and tie it tightly. Put it on a cup or any other convenient container that can serve as a stand. If you want to make the most real layout of the planet, then try to achieve a slightly flattened shape. If you find only a standard oval ball, just inflate it slightly.

We make paste

Before making the globe with your own hands made of paper, you need to prepare a binding solution - paste. In a saucepan, pour four glasses of water and put on the fire to boil. Meanwhile, in another container, mix the flour with the rest of the liquid. Once the water boils, gradually enter into it the resulting mixture, stirring constantly.

Fire reduce to a minimum and cook a couple more minutes. Do not stop stirring, otherwise it will burn. Ready paste can be put in a cool place, so that it cools faster.

How to make a ball of paper with your own hands

You can grab the newspaper by hand on small strips or squares. Air ball lubricate with oil or petroleum jelly. Before you put the pan with a binder solution. Put newspaper pieces into the paste and put them on the ball. So make several layers. Do not forget to leave a small hole, through which then you will take out the ball. The remaining paste is covered with a dense lid or a plastic bag. Leave to dry for a day.

Preheat the adhesive and repeat the whole process. That is, wrap the ball with pieces of paper and allow to dry. In principle, at this stage you can stop. But the more layers of paper, the stronger the ball will be.

We are already approaching how to make the globe our own hands. From paper we did not completely closed the workpiece, but with a small hole. Through it, pierce the balloon or untie the tip and blow it away. Do not release the tail, keep your fingers. Remove the balloon. It turned out a hollow piece of papier-mache in the form of a ball.

We paint and create continents

Cover the future globe with a primer and allow to dry. Now paint the ball in blue. So we simulate the oceans and seas. Draw a continent with a pencil from the hand or using stencils. Paint them in green, brown, yellow and white colors, relying on the real layout. If desired, sign the names of the continents, ponds, islands and so on. Other options for creating continents

We paint the globe in blue. From the paper, we cut out the finished continents and paste them to the ball. The card can be left white so that during the training the child himself painted continents and water spaces in the right colors. And you can completely globe the glue with blue paper, and then apply the continents.

The easiest way is to transfer the already prepared map of the world. Some craftsmen process the image in a graphic editor: increase, stretch, and then print and paste. And you can do even easier - take as a basis a ready-made layout of the globe made of paper. For example, you can use the image shown above, changing it to the desired size.

Stand for the globe

Take the sleeve from the toilet paper, make cuts on one side and bend. Apply hot glue on them and attach them to the middle of the plastic plate. Instead, you can take the bottom of the round box from under the cake. If necessary, expand the hole in the globe. Insert the other side of the sleeve, previously glued with glue, into it. Globe desktop ready. If the papier-mache workpiece has turned out to be rather heavy, then weight the stand with gypsum or instead of a plate use a container with sufficient weight.

How else to make the basis for the globe

• Simply crumple the newspapers and wrap the paper in several layers until you get something that looks like a ball. The method is simple and fast, but not neat.
• Buy a ready-made polystyrene billet.
• Use Christmas balls if you want to make a small globe.

As a basis, take a volleyball, football, gymnastic or other ball of suitable diameter. You can immediately draw or glue the continents on them. And you can use them as a form for papier-mâché. Only the paper blank will have to be cut to extract the ball. But to halves you can attach loops and turn the breadboard model of the planet into a casket.
