How to make artificial honey from elderberry, linden, acacia flowers at home

Between natural honey and artificial honey there is nothing in common. This product is not produced by bees, but is created by the hands of a person at home. But artificial honey is not a fake. This is a completely independent food product, obtained from cane or sugar beet, grape juice, melon, watermelon or floral infusions of lime, acacia, elderberry with the addition of granulated sugar. It is the last honey and it is considered useful, because it retains the medicinal properties of the plant, which are appreciated in folk medicine.

Benefits of honey from elderberry flowers

The medicinal plant of elderina has been used for many years in folk medicine for making infusions and decoctions. They are used as an antipyretic, diaphoretic, diuretic, anthelmintic. Hot broth from elder flowers helps in the treatment of respiratory diseases, bronchitis, as well as angina, stomatitis, etc. Infusions from this plant soothe the nervous system, relieve headaches and toothaches.

Honey from elderberry: recipe for cooking at home

In the period of intensive flowering of elderberry, from May to June, it's time to collect the flowers of the plant. They are separated from the stems and densely packed in a half-liter jar. At home, place the flowers in a saucepan and add cold water (1 liter). After boiling, cook for 10 minutes. Remove the pan from the plate and leave the infusion for 12-15 hours without opening the lid.

After the specified time, the broth strain from the flowers, add sugar (3 kg) and allow to boil. Boil the honey for an hour, stirring occasionally until the weight begins to thicken. At the end of the preparation, add a teaspoon of citric acid (you can replace half the lemon juice). Hot honey pour on the banks, and after cooling cover with plastic lids and send for storage in a cool dark place.

Artificial honey from elderberry: indications for use

The main advantage of artificial honey before natural is that it does not cause allergies. And this means that the scope of this product is much broader.

Artificial honey can be consumed by adults, children, and even pregnant women and nursing mothers. The recommended dose is one teaspoon three times a day, washed down with water, herbal tea or rose hips. You can add honey from elderberry directly into the tea. It is an excellent substitute for sugar.

Recipe for artificial honey from linden

Not less than elderberry is valued linden. The flowers of this tree are dried, after which it is possible to brew tea from them, which favorably affects the nervous system, helps with flu and cold, diseases of the digestive system. A similar effect has artificial honey, made from linden.

Torn flowers should be separated from the leaves and densely packed into a jar (3 liters). After that, they need to be put in a saucepan and poured with water (1.5 liters). Boil after boiling for 20 minutes, then set aside and allow to cool completely and stand for 6 hours. Then drain the broth, add as much sugar as there were flowers (3 liters). Cook honey for 2 hours before thickening. 20 minutes before the end of cooking, pour in half the lemon juice. Dilute honey to the banks and store in a dark cool place for an unlimited time.

Honey from linden can be added to tea or taken by a teaspoon daily to prevent disease and strengthen immunity.

Honey from acacia at home

Of the white flowers of acacia, you can also prepare a sweet treat. Artificial honey turns out to be beautiful pinkish brown and very pleasant to taste. To make it, you will need a liter of acacia flowers, as much water, 2.5 kg of sugar and juice of half a lemon.

Before making honey, many housewives ask themselves: do you need to wash the acacia flowers or not. On the one hand, water will save inflorescence from dust and insects that may be inside, and on the other hand, it is possible to lose most of the valuable pollen. Therefore, the best option - it is better not to wash, but collect flowers should not be on the roadside roads, but in places where there is no road dust.

In general, the process of making honey is similar to how it is prepared from elderberry. The flowers are poured with water, boiled for 10-15 minutes, and then allowed to stand for 12-14 hours. After that, the broth is filtered and boiled with sugar until thickened for two hours. At the end of the preparation, lemon juice is added and bottled. Before use, cool well.
