For fifteen years has passed since the main cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church reappeared on its rightful place on the bank of the Moscow River. The station itself, as well as its ground vestibule, is an unconditional architectural landmark of the city of Moscow. She was part of the first subway station and took the first passengers in the distant 1935. And it is through this station on Gogol Boulevard that the road to the temple passes. The first passengers of the metro in the thirties could observe the fragments of the blown up temple of Christ the Savior, and later - a grand pier under the foundation of the Palace of Soviets, which was never destined to rise on this place.

It is best to start a walk from the Kremlin wall from the Alexander Garden. To do this, it is best to leave the metro station at the Borovitskaya station of the Serpukhov-Timiryazevskaya line. And walk slowly along the streets of Mokhovaya and Volkhonka to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. A lot of time this way will not take, but it will be something to remember.

From Arbat Square

No less exciting can be a route along Gogol Boulevard from Arbat Square. This is one of the most beautiful places in the capital and a favorite place for walks with native Muscovites. On the square there are as many as two stations of the same name: "Arbatskaya" Filevskaya line and the same exact Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya.

These stations are not communicating with each other, but you can get to the square by any of the two metro lines. And then there is a leisurely walk along the Gogol Boulevard in the direction of the Moskva River to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
