Sights of the South Coast. Interesting places in the Southern coast of Crimea

The southern coast of Crimea is a strip of the Black Sea coast with a width of up to 2 km. It starts from Cape Aya in the west and ends with the Karadag massif in the east. There is a variety of picturesque places, each of which is a masterpiece by the artist named Nature.

Crimea. South coast. The Velvet season

September in Crimea is perhaps the best time. The people, having received their share of tanning and curative Crimean air, collapsed. There was no fuss, and the sun weakened its ultraviolet fire. And the sea is still affectionate and warm.

Beach vacation in September is successfully combined with excursions. The sights of the South Coast are a geological fairy tale, imprinted in stone, and human history, which is preserved by fortresses, museums and palaces.

Beautiful name - Fiolent

The sights of the South Coast are located on the territory of five regions: Sevastopol, Bolshaya Yalta, Alushta, Sudak, Feodosia. Those who rest in Sevastopol, simply can not help visiting Cape Fiolent: the harsh beauty of these places is difficult to describe. You can reach it by buses No. 5, 72 from the stop of the Central Department Store.

"Fiolent" translates as "frantic", "stormy", "cruel." In stormy weather, the sea here is raging with crushing force, the ships that are in the vicinity are scattered into splinters.

So it could happen with the Greek ship in the distant year of 861, if it were not for the prayers of the sailors to St. George. As soon as the ship's crew saw on the rock 100 meters from the shore of the Saint, the storm immediately stopped. The place was called - the Rock of the Apparition. Grateful sailors founded a monastery in the cliffs of the cape, which still operates today. On the mountain of St. George a huge cross was erected, so it carries another name - the Cross rock.

From the monastery down to the Jasper beach with white sand and clear water leads a staircase of 800 steps. In other parts of the rocky promontory, descent to the sea is very dangerous. Also, do not take risks when going swimming to the cliff of the phenomenon without insurance. A duel with sea waves, even on a short hundred-meter mark, can end badly. Do not forget: Fiolent means "frantic".

Ayazma is the blessed land

Beauty requires sacrifice. To enjoy the unique charm of the wild nature of the Crimea, one must at least one day part with the beach laziness, dress sportily and get ready to overcome obstacles.

The Ayazma tract is wild and secluded beaches, a unique game of colors of the sea, the sun, rocks and plants. Here, among the stone boulders and sea spray, the Stankevich pine grows. Her curly branches with long needles and large cones are the main decoration of a deserted, almost cosmic landscape.

Juniper is high - the second endemic, which is famous for the tract of Ayazma. Ten-meter candles fill the air with a healing fragrance and make the lungs work at full strength.

The most famous place here is the beach of Figs, a tent metropolis of romantics. To date, it is equipped with minimal facilities (toilets, garbage cans, firewood, water) and is chargeable.

Anyone who decides to make his way east through the rocks and rocky debris of the coastal strip, a kilometer and a half later rests in a sheer cliff - the end of the tract Ayazma. "Blessed Land" (as translated Ayazma from Greek) is replaced by "Lost World" - this is the name of the beach, which is sheltered behind a rock wall 600 meters high. It is accessible only from the sea, a place even more isolated, bounded in the east by the reserved cape Aya.

It remains to add that all the way through the tract Ayazma can be done on foot from Balaklava, and it is 8 kilometers.

Places of strength of the "golden-tided" cape

The southernmost point of the Crimea is Cape Sarych, which in Turkish means "gilt". This spur of the Crimean mountain range is composed of golden-yellow limestone. Lovers of all the inexplicable and beyond are attracted by the unusually strong energy of this cape. Odysseus hid from the cyclops in his juniper thickets.

Very close to the mountain is Ilyas-Kaya - the ascent to it starts from the stop "46th kilometer" of the highway Sevastopol-Yalta. At the top of the mountain was once the temple of St. Elijah. Those who managed to get here, come in a prayerful state - from the universal expanse of the surrounding panorama. The mountain is crowned with a cross with the inscription: "Save and save".

At the foot of Ilyas-Kaya - the statue of their seven acute-angled stone blocks with an altar in the middle - a mystical place where enlightenment comes and cherished desires are fulfilled. Temple of the Sun. Indifferent, he leaves no one - even scientists.

Every evening the Sarych lighthouse lights its beacon - a witness of military sea battles. In 1914, the Russian squadron in 14 minutes struck with sharp shots two newest German cruisers, who hastily retired to Turkish harbors. The sunken ships and the underwater Stone Garden - the rocks destroyed by the earthquake - are attractive for diving.

Cape Sarych - the starting point of yachting along the western coast of the Crimea. Lovers of romance of wild beaches can stay in a tent city equipped with the necessary amenities; Lovers of comfort - in boarding houses Foros in the presidential dacha Gorbachev.

Comrade Amet-Khan Sultan

Big Yalta as a magnet attracted famous sights of the South Coast. In Alupka, two very different museums will attract the attention of holidaymakers. Vorontsovsky Palace is not necessary to represent: at the foot of Ai-Petri, it is important to admire yourself. The second museum should also be looked for along the crooked Alupkinsk streets (Yaltinskaya St., 22). And admires here not the luxury and richness of interiors, but the person to whom the museum is dedicated. In front of the building stands a monument to Amet-Khan Sultan - a pilot, twice Hero of the Soviet Union.

A man with such a difficult name was born in Alupka; His father comes from Dagestan, his mother is a Crimean Tatar. Soviet childhood in the 1930s naturally ended in a flight school, where his talent as an air ace was revealed. The war, which he flew from the first to the last day, sharply emphasized the facets of his talent. In the battles over Yaroslavl, Amet-Khan broke through the wing of his aircraft fascist Junkers, left his car in the belly of the enemy to fall down, and he jumped out on a parachute. Amazing stories about the combat flights of Comrade Sultan are kept by the museum. In the difficult Stalinist times, he did not renounce his nationality: the Crimean Tatar. And to the question of what kind of people he considers himself a hero, he answered that he is a Hero of the Soviet Union.

Parks - a delicate matter

Sights of the South Coast are not only picturesque beaches, rocks, palaces and museums. A huge aesthetic pleasure is provided by walks in the parks of the peninsula.

The very first in the Crimea was laid Gurzuf Park. Gurzuf was in 1808 a wild Tatar village with one luxurious mansion belonging to the Duke of Richelieu - the Governor-General of the entire southern region. He brought the European park culture to Crimea: well-maintained paths, trees with bizarre haircuts, alleys, squares with fountains and sculptures - Italian style. Then the famous Nikitsky Botanical Garden was planted with plants from all over the world, in September a chrysanthemum ball is held here. Vorontsov Park in Alupka represents a combination of classic and free English park style. The most beautiful is the Massandra Park in landscape (English) style - a skilful imitation of natural landscapes. An even greater effect is produced by the combination of local landscapes with the elegance of the Versailles style in the Aivazovsky Modern Park- a feast of nature in all its joyous splendor.

Fountains, busts, alleys ...

But back to the foot of the Ayu-Dag mountain. The main attraction of two large local sanatoriums is one Gurzuf Park. Gurzuf, not Yalta and Alushta, was the first Crimean resort. The builder of railways PI Gubonin built the first hotels here in the late 19th century. Cute buildings with elements of Russian style and now comfortably placed among the parkland, which is already over 200 years old.

F. Shalyapin, V. Mayakovsky, A. Chekhov and other great classics who once walked in the park, froze now on the alley of busts; A. Pushkin is allowed to sit down at ease with a stone. On a bronze bench, having thrown a leg up on a leg, V.Lenin freely settled down; Sitting next to him, those who wish can be photographed in the company of the former leader.

Exotic plants from all over the world found in the park a second homeland, in all its beauty is represented here the art of topiar - cutting trees. Green sculptures compete in grace with the antique.

Fountains "Night", "Rachel", "Girl with a Jug" and others, undoubtedly decorate the park, but also require constant care.

There is an object in the possessions of sanatoria "Gurzufsky" and "Pushkino". For those who do not rest in them, the entrance fee is paid, only with an excursion.

"Fidelity is power"

The beauty of nature seems to put a stamp on the souls of people, among her living. Cape Plaka, located on the east side of the Ayu-Dag mountain, keeps a history of love and faithfulness of two women who lived in these places. The base of the cape is very dense volcanic lava, it is covered with shells of hardened clay rocks. As the clay falls from the surface of the volcanic porphyrite, so all earthly calculations crumble before the power of love.

The story began in 1825. The owner of these places AM Baruzdin did not let his daughter Maria into Siberia for her husband - the Decembrist IV Poggio. The marriage between Mary and her second husband, AI Gagarin, was unhappy. Twenty years later, after learning about Poggio's death in Siberia, she immediately died of a stroke.

The Kuchuk-Lambat estate remained in the possession of Prince AI Gagarin. The name of the settlement is translated as "Small Lampada" - Cape Plaka was the location of the lighthouse. The 50-year-old prince falls in love with the young girl Anastasia Orbeliani, she happily marries him, despite the huge age difference. Three years of reckless happiness ended in the death of her husband in the Caucasus.

The young princess Gagarina comes to the Crimean estate of her husband and lives here under the shadow of Cape Plaka for 50 years, keeping faithfulness to her first love. At the end of her life she builds a castle in which they dreamed of living with AI Gagarin. A strange, exhilarating impression is left by this Gothic structure with a pointed orange roof and weather vanes - a ghost of knightly times and chivalric manners.

The echo of the Bosporan kingdom

In the Sudak region of the southern coast of Crimea in the Soviet times was discovered the fortress of Asandra, one of the ten oldest fortresses in the world. At an altitude of 70 meters it hangs over the sea near the village of Veseloe.

Archaeologists associate her appearance with the name of the Bosporus king Asander, her age - more than two thousand years. The walls of a three-meter wide and six meters high sheltered the garrison of soldiers fighting the pirates. The buildings are well preserved and attract not only scientists, but also all history lovers.
