There is another way how to get the violet color from the paints. To get a muted purple color, you need to mix the black paint with any cold shades of red. For example, it can be alizarin red. You will get the violet, it will not be very bright and chromatic.

There is another important point in how to get the violet color from the paints. A great role in this will play the richness of the shades of outgoing colors. For example, it will look like this: scarlet shade of red color + light blue paint will give you a purple color with a beautiful burgundy tint. Or if you mix red with dark blue, you will have a rich purple color, very close to the eggplant.

In the event that you work in watercolor and do not use white, adjust the saturation or pallor of color with the amount of water.

And if you prefer to work with gouache - do not forget that when it dries it becomes lighter in several shades, and you need to get a darker violet color.
