How to distinguish a false buffalo from his real fellow?

Beginning in the middle of summer and ending in late autumn, thousands of mushroom pickers get out into the woods to quench their thirst for gathering. Many people choose to go to the forest, not even to search for mushrooms, but only to quench their thirst for natural beauty and privacy with nature.

However, do not forget about what is in the woods and danger. First of all, we are talking about poisonous mushrooms, which deftly masquerade as their edible analogues. Take, for example, a false buffalo. How to distinguish it from a normal fungus? To do this, you need to know what the genuine birch tree looks like.

In appearance it is an ordinary mushroom of a discreet color. The hat is often grayish white. The leg is thickened, widens downward, the color strongly resembles the trunk of a birch. Very important! The flesh of the fungus is white and does not change on the cut of its color! And now - false birchbark.

It is often called "bile fungus". In appearance, it almost perfectly copies an edible brother. The same leg, and the hat is almost the same color. Just enough to fry it or cook it, to fully experience the depth of the mistake: the taste of the mushroom is caustic and terribly bitter. It is not difficult to understand why a false buffalo was called "bilious".

How to distinguish?

There is a 100% "quality guarantee". A poisonous mushroom will never be wormy (except for chanterelles, which in any case are not so). If it happens at the end of summer, the weather is dry enough, but the fungus is surprisingly clean, then this is an occasion to ponder. If all the neighboring mushrooms (especially not the youngest) are also completely clean, then it is almost certainly a false birch bark.

After the test for "wormness," look closely at the leg. Both mushrooms have the same coloring, but the inedible variant has a "pockmarked" pattern, not like a birch trunk. Experienced mushroom pickers say that in "bile fungus" the color on the stem is similar to the capillary network.

Not too appetizing, but it's better to lose your appetite immediately, and not after the first spoon of a lovingly cooked dish that has become inedible.

«Hatter affairs»

After a thorough inspection of the bottom, you can take over the hat. Note! At the present poderezozivika never and under any circumstances its bottom will not be pink. If you notice even a shade of pink, then it is better not to take such a mushroom.

From above, the "fake" hat almost always has at least a small, but quite noticeable shade of green. A normal fungus does not. This "podberezovik" (photo - a false version) will certainly "please" you with the disgusting taste of a spoiled dish.

If even then you are not sure, just feel the hat. The "noble" velvety surface speaks of forgery. How does a normal poderezovik look like? The fungus always has an even and smooth surface of the cap. The last "stroke" - break off a piece from it. If it is pink at the break, then before you is a gall mushroom.

Finally, let us give you one universal advice. Remember! If you ever doubt something, then never, under any circumstances, do not take a mushroom! The above described option is the mildest case, fraught with only a spoiled dinner. The same pale toadstool has no unpleasant taste, but its use is almost always fatal.
