The name MDF is due to the English word combination Medium Density Fiberboard. It appeared for the first time in America, so the first letters were American. If to make an accurate translation, then MDF is a medium density fibreboard. When it is made, wood is added to the mass from which it is produced, in addition to chips. The EAF is completely made up of pressed chips. But each material has its application in various areas of our life.

The basis for MDF and chipboard are fibers and shavings of various types of wood. Wood waste is processed. This determines the low cost of the material. To obtain a high-quality product, the shavings go through several stages of processing. After grinding, it falls on the steam treatment. Here, various glue components are added. For the formation of MDF use natural resin as a fastener, then all this mass goes under the hot press. Here, a plate is formed, which is subsequently subjected to grinding. If necessary, it goes through the following processing steps. MDF is produced in several types. The cooked plate can be painted or laminated with a film under any shade. The store sells slabs with veneer trim for the imitation of a noble tree. The cost differs from the applied treatment option.

It is difficult to say what is better - MDF or chipboard, because each material has good characteristics. However, the drawbacks, too, could not be withdrawn. In the stores there are different cost groups. The grade of the material chosen influences the price.

Laminated chipboard, whose price is much lower, represents a serious competitor in the production of not only furniture, but also flooring. Films have a smooth or rough surface, so you can not tell at once. But you need to choose the right material. Plates of chipboard can be superhard, solid, medium density and soft. When buying, pay attention to the direction and size of chips. The multi-layer board has several layers with different directions of the chip arrangement.
