How to align the text in the Word. How to align text with height, edges and vertically

The program "Vord" has received the widest distribution among users of the most different specialties. In fact, this is a small desktop publishing system. When working with text, the program provides simply unlimited possibilities. To understand all the subtleties is not difficult even for an inexperienced user. In this article, we will discuss in detail how to align the text in the Word.

Alignment in the horizontal direction

Working with the "Word", making the text neat and beautiful is completely easy. For alignment, for example, you do not need to perform complex and lengthy actions, working with the space and tab keys. Everything can be done much faster, using the special tools of the program. So, how to align the text in the Word?

For this purpose, the program has a group "Paragraph" in the main menu. There are four buttons with dashes (second row). Clicking on the first one, you can align the text to the left. It is this formatting that is set in the program by default. But sometimes, for one reason or another, the text should be centered. Such a method, for example, formulates headings. In this case, press the second button on the left. Aligning text to the right is very rarely used. However, this formatting is also applied from time to time. To do this, you need to press the third button on the left. Next, let's see how to align the text around the edges. This can be done by clicking on the last button in the row "By width". In this case, by canceling a fixed length of spaces, the text will be flat on the sides. By the way, it is this design of documents that is considered correct in most cases.

For alignment, you can also use the keys on the keyboard:

  1. Left alignment - Ctrl + L.
  2. In the center - Ctrl + E.
  3. On the right edge - Ctrl + R.
  4. In width - Ctrl + J.

If desired, you can make horizontal alignment even after the text is printed. To do this, select the required text fragment with the mouse (right button). Then press the button that is required in this particular case. We hope, now you understand how to align text in Word. No difficulties can arise in this case simply can not.

Align text in a table

In the table, the text is aligned in exactly the same way as in a normal field. This is done elementary. To change the position of words at once in all cells, the whole table should be selected with the mouse. Then click on the button in the "Paragraph" group of the main menu. To change the position of the text in a separate cell, you need to select only it and perform the same order of actions as in the case of the entire table at once.

You can use another way. To do this, place the cursor in the desired cell and click the right mouse button. In the opened menu, go to the "Align cells" and select the desired position of the text.

Selecting the line spacing

Next, consider how to change the distance between lines. When working with text, this may also be necessary. To do this, in the same group of the main menu "Paragraph", click on the arrow "Line spacing" (last in the second row). As a result, a menu appears in which you can select the desired value. To change the interval between lines in the text already typed, just select the required fragment and press the right mouse button. Then select the desired value.

You can also change the intervals using a set of styles. To do this, click on "Modify Styles" in the main menu in the "Styles" group. Next, choose a style with a suitable line spacing. Once the cursor is pointing to a specific menu item, the text will change accordingly. You can choose, for example, the style of Word 2003 (interval 1), Word 2007 (interval 1.5), and so on.

Select the interval between paragraphs

So, we have found out how to align the text in the "Word" in the horizontal direction and how to change the interval between individual lines. Now let's try to understand the subtleties of the paragraphs. To change the distance between them in this program is also very simple. By default, paragraphs in the program are separated by one line. In order to change this, you must first highlight the necessary paragraph. Next, on the "Page Layout" tab (or "Page Layout", depending on the version), go to the "Paragraph" group. Here you can set the value of the indent from the left or right edge, as well as the interval "Up" (from the top) and "After" (from below).

Align text to height

Aligning the text in the Word can be done not only horizontally, but also in height. For example, when designing covers, you often need to make sure that the text is located in the middle of the sheet in a vertical direction. So you can emphasize the specificity of the page. Therefore, let's consider how to align the text in height.

In order to achieve this goal, go to the "Page layout" menu and click on the "Page parameters" tab on the arrow (lower right). After that, the corresponding menu will open. Select the "Paper Source" section (last) here. In the "Vertical alignment" item, you can select the position of the text at the top, center, height or bottom edge. As you can see, the answer to the question of how to align the text vertically in the "Word" is also quite simple. The program allows you to do this in a few clicks.

How to Flip Text in Word

If desired, the text in the "Word" can even be turned to the vertical position. To do this, go to the "Insert" tab, the "Table" group (the first in the row), and click on the arrow. In the menu that appears, select the item "Draw a table" and circle the text. Next, after setting the cursor in the resulting field (not the text), click the right mouse button. In the menu that appears, click on "Direction of text". Here you can select the desired position of the text.

Delete a page

If you delete only the text in the Word, the page will still be saved, because there are also hidden symbols (usually tabs and lines between the lines) in addition to visible letters. They should also be removed by clicking on the "Show All Characters" icon in the "Paragraph" group of the main menu (last row, last button). Erase all visible symbols by selecting them with the mouse and pressing the Del key. After that, the page will automatically be deleted.

Thus, you now know how to align the text in the "Word" horizontally, vertically, along the edges and in the tables. The procedure is quite simple. This program, designed for both professionals and ordinary users, allows you to design text without spending extra time and effort.
