How is tooth enamel restoration carried out?

Tooth enamel is the hardest part of the tooth. It performs a protective function, covering the entire surface of the tooth. Once the enamel begins to break down, the tooth begins to turn yellow. This is manifested internally in that it becomes more sensitive to external influences and damage. Water, lipids and proteins are the main components of enamel. It works in the form of a sieve, and the liquid that makes it, is a carrier of molecules and ions.

When the destruction of tooth enamel begins, the dentin becomes sensitive to external influences of any nature. The tooth becomes yellow. Restoration of tooth enamel plays a big role in the further preservation of oral health. If the process of its thinning begins, the tooth may later completely collapse.

At the kid formation of a protective enamel film occurs ringwise. Scientists have proved that if a woman during the period of pregnancy was fed poorly, was ill and subjected her body to the influence of bad habits, children will have violations in the development of tooth enamel.

The whole problem is that it does not regenerate on its own: the restoration of the enamel is carried out only with the use of artificial techniques.

There is a list of the main reasons that lead to this destruction:

  1. Influence of genetic factors.
  2. General condition of the body.
  3. Anatomical structure of the tooth surface.
  4. Fluoride saturation.
  5. Hygiene of the oral cavity.
  6. Quality and quantity of saliva.
  7. Use a toothbrush with a stiff bristle.
  8. Drinking orange or grapefruit juice, which contribute to the dissolution of enamel.
  9. The use of carbonated drinks.
  10. Problems in the work of the gastrointestinal tract.

Restoration of tooth enamel is carried out with the help of implantation, fluorination and many other techniques.

So, the use of implantation allows you to change the shape, color of teeth, correct bite, and also protect the enamel from destruction in case of its increased sensitivity. The process of connecting the implant and tissue is carried out at the cellular level, so the result is preserved almost all life.

The restoration of tooth enamel by fluoridation strengthens it, helps to complete bacterial metabolism and increase resistance to acidic environment. One of the ways of carrying out this procedure is the application method. A wax cast of teeth is made, which is then filled with a composition with a high content of fluorine and is applied to the teeth.

Another option is mineralization. Restoration of tooth enamel with the application of this technique implies the application of substances containing fluoride, calcium and other useful components. Their particles slowly penetrate deep into the enamel, filling free niches.

Also, the recovery method is the use of veneers - special porcelain plates. They are installed only on completely destroyed teeth, which have already changed color and require full protection of the outer layer.

Restoration of tooth enamel is carried out with the help of filling and compliance with the diet. So, the first method is to impose special materials to create the required shape. The diet is to limit the use of carbohydrates and the appointment of vitamin complexes that help increase the protective function of saliva and, thereby, prevent the destruction of enamel.

At home, you can restore the enamel only if it is slightly damaged. To do this, use calcium and fluoride toothpastes: while brushing your teeth, leave them on the surface for a few minutes (2-3 minutes is enough). Also a positive effect brings regular gum massage, which stimulates blood circulation and improves the condition of the teeth.
