How important is the waterproofing of underground structures
As a rule, all underground rooms, whether it is a vegetable storehouse, a cellar of a residential building, an underground garage or an ordinary cellar, are made from ordinary concrete mortar. And this material, as is known, is not an obstacle in the way of water and even moisture, which enters the structure in the form of droplets.
Most often in large quantities, water penetrates into the basements of private houses or cottages. Under multi-storey apartment houses, the basement and the basement are arranged in a slightly different way, so there moisture accumulates much less frequently, which avoids unnecessary repairs. If we return to private buildings, then mainly they are waterproofed from groundwater, as these ponds constantly wash away houses, flood the cellars and disable any structures. Sometimes such incidents occur in high-rise buildings that were built in an "unfortunate" place, where the level of underground rivers is too high and water can sometimes spill over while undermining the cellars of houses.
The most dangerous time for any cellar is spring, when snow is melting from the roads and thawed rivers can flood any unprotected structure.
Recently, such material as Penetron has been very popular. It is thanks to him that the waterproofing of underground structures even after getting into them passes quickly and easily. It is mounted on a humidified and perfectly flat surface, dried and after that serves a very long time. An important property of this material is that it is embedded inside the concrete floor and thus not only repels moisture, but also increases the waterproofness of the concrete itself. However, as mentioned above, Penetron does not tolerate low temperatures both during installation and in its place, so the basement will have to be equipped with a heat source.
