How does polyposis of the nose arise?

Many people have difficulty breathing, the causes of which can be quite different, for example, the presence of infection, allergy or sinusitis. In any case, with proper treatment, the stuffiness is gone, but there are times when polyps form in the nose. Such a disease is called a polyposis of the nose and arises from allergies, fungal infections or metabolic disorders, as well as for a number of other reasons that are not always clear.

When this disease occurs in a person, nasal breathing is difficult, resulting in a headache and general weakness, and the sense of smell is broken. A feeling of nasal congestion occurs at the stage of formation of polyps, while the mucus stagnates and spreads into the nasopharynx. In a state of sleep, nasal breathing is blocked, which leads to dryness in the nose and pharynx. Sneezing and bleeding during polyposis are not observed. So, polyposis of the nose can be accompanied by infections that lead to a violation of blood circulation in the brain, resulting in a person experiencing frequent pain in the head.

For the diagnosis is required examination of the ENT, as well as X-ray or tomography, in other cases, the polyposis of the nose is diagnosed by the endoscopic method or by the method of a rhinoscopy. Since polyps are mobile, they can be fixed with a probe or a video camera, and determine the degree of their spread in the nasal cavity. Usually polyps are in the upper nasal passage. It is also necessary to conduct allergic studies to establish the cause of polyps.

In addition to polyposis of the nose, there is a so-called family polyposis, which is the development of polyps in the intestine and stomach, depending on the type of the disease. It is treated such a disease by removing the affected part of the intestine. If the family polyposis is not treated in time, cancer can develop.

Also in the nose can appear families of polyps that are able to spread throughout the nasal cavity and penetrate the nasopharynx. Usually nasal polyps are not malignant.

Currently, polyposis of the nose treatment is both surgical and conservative. It is important to note that the most common method is complex treatment, in which polyps are eliminated during surgery, and then the appropriate course of treatment is prescribed.

Making a removal of polyps with surgical instruments, most often doctors use a so-called loop. The loop has one drawback, which is that it can not open the sinuses with it, so the operation must be repeated. In modern times, surgical ultrasound, laser and radio wave surgery have been widely used. After the operation, it is necessary to properly care for the nasal cavity, it is recommended to visit the otolaryngologist to wash the nose with a solution in which an antiseptic or mucolytic agent is added. In these procedures, the use of oil nasal drops, as well as various ointments, is contraindicated. In this case, corticosteroid therapy is used. However, after the elimination of polyps, there is no absolute guarantee that they will not form again.

Another method of treatment is the use of hormonal drugs in the early stages of the development of polyposis, as well as antihistamines. In the presence of allergies in a person suffering from polyposis, methods are used to eliminate allergies.
Thus, polyposis of the nose is a common disease due to the fact that now more people are prone to various allergies that contribute to the emergence and development of this disease. Modern medicine has enough means and methods of treatment that can eliminate neoplasms in the nose, thereby giving the person a chance to breathe easily.
