A new project by Andrei Proshkin "Orleans" is a film, critical reviews that have been designated as a phantasmagoric sermon. He even has an eloquent and intriguing subtitle - "Phantasmagoria of Sin."

The novel "Orleans" was composed by a famous contemporary, domestic screenwriter Yuri Arabov. His work immediately deserved the reputation of a difficult opus of a scenario genius, to remove on which something decent is impossible. But after working together on the "Horde" Arabs ventured to offer it to Proshkin. "Orleans" is a film whose reviews are diametrically opposed, from dazzling to laudatory to destructively criticizing.

History of creation

Sponsored by the provocative project of the Cinema Foundation, the director of the TNT channel, Igor Mishin, produced the film. He immediately ranked the picture to the art mainstream, comparing it with the tapes "Geograph Globe Propyl" and "Birdman", and was sure that in Russia there is an audience who wants to watch such a movie. But because of the specific national gloomy sense of humor, "Orleans" did not get to international film festivals. His premiere took place at the Moscow International Film Festival. Plot

"Orleans" is a film whose actors are almost equal in their professionalism. MIFF singled out only Elena Lyadova in the category "Best Actress". The film is set in the provincial provincial town of Orleans, among the Altai steppes. Broken hairdresser Lidka (Elena Liadova) leads a promiscuous sex life, one by one doing abortions. Surgeon Rudik (Oleg Yagodin) ascribes imaginary mastopathy to patients and leads them under the pretext of examining them to their home, leaving their paralyzed father at the same time. Police investigator Nevolin (Vitaly Khayev) is a real criminal, a thief in law. But everything changes at the moment when the executor arrives in the city (Victor Sukhorukov) - just a conscience in the flesh. He persecutes sinners, bringing them to near insanity.

A simple description can not convey everything that the audience will see the "Orleans" tape. The film reviews of the audience deserved controversial, perhaps because its creators tried to make a plot of the parable.

Picturing sinfulness

During the review, it seems that the authors have removed a conditional story with a clearly expressed morality. In it, the heroes are intended to illustrate the intentionally grotesquely and exaggeratedly complexly arranged living people. But sometimes, when depicting the depravity of the characters, the authors take a great interest and with excitement they are allowed to satiate the stories of sinners with wild details. Therefore, it is difficult to watch an average person in the street.

In addition to the above, there are other problems - dialogues of characters distract from what is happening, as they are overloaded with philosophical concepts, quotations and names. The visual part is similar to the attack by direct camera angles, bright colors, extravagant details. The register of actor's performance jumps from vaudeville to circus entreprise, and still tires the abundance of artificial blood.

Explanations - excuses for authors

"Orleans" - a film, the reviews of which have not left indifferent the creators of the project. Proshkin and Arabs tried to explain to the indignant public that the stylistics of the grouse grotesque was chosen by them consciously, since they considered that this is the only acceptable and adequate way to talk with the viewer. This technique was supposed to smooth out the excessive moralizing pathos. But, apparently, it did not work, and on the screens came a very dubious and overly rigid parable, pretending to be the black comedy of the absurd.

Actors - the main actors

This turned out to be "Orleans" - a film whose actors save the situation as they can. First of all, the tape is kept on the game of Elena Lyadova, who after the movie's release is considered the brightest film actress in Russia, and the wonderful theater actor from Yekaterinburg Oleg Yagodin, who started to play in the cinema only this year. But even they sometimes felt extremely insecure in the thrash, booth scenery, in which unfolds its action-morality Proshkin.

Verdict

Ultimately, Orleans is a grotesque, it is characterized by a moralizing and ironic detachment from the depicted reality. This is a film that all without exception have skeletons in the closet. And one day there will come a time when you have to pay for everything and immediately. It is impossible to predict and predict when and where you will find and reach your conscience. But at this moment a person will be the most vulnerable. This is the direct reference of "Orleans" to the "Master and Margarita", and it is not the only one. The film "Orleans", of course, is the strongest statement about our modernity. There is no publicism in the film, this is different from Leviathan, but these two pictures can be safely put on one level. And you should watch such a movie.

It is not known what motivated Yuri Arabov, and why he named his settlement Orleans. Perhaps this is just a sonorous name, which is repeatedly mentioned in the names of foreign films and serials. For example:
