How to glue ceiling wallpaper

Ceiling wallpaper is much denser than the wall, thanks to this, they well hide any unevenness of the ceiling. And in this connection, ideal surface preparation is not required.

But still these wallpapers are not durable. Years through 5 (maximum) they will have to be changed again, because they absorb not only dust, but also moisture, fat, suffocating tobacco smoke. The best way is to choose imported high-quality ceiling wallpaper for painting. This option is good at the expense of high quality, and it is noteworthy that they can be repainted up to ten times.

Suitable for ceiling and non-woven ceiling wallpaper. They are much easier to glue than paper, because you need to glue the glue, not the wallpaper, but the ceiling.

When preparing for ceiling gluing, it is not necessary to wash whitewash or paint. But in case the ceiling has noticeable irregularities, there is no way to do without plastering. And if the difference in plates is too big, then it is better to level the ceiling with gypsum board, and then apply wallpaper.

In the former USSR, wallpaper was pasted on newspapers. So you can not do it, because in a few years the ceiling will cover with yellow ugly spots from newsprint. It is better to use a primer as a base.

It is advisable to pre-primer the ceiling in advance. The primer dries quickly, is applied with a simple brush, does not contain any solvents, and does not create a greenhouse effect, because its surface breathes. The main thing - to paste the wallpaper you can start after a couple of hours.

How to glue ceiling wallpaper ?

In this process there are some nuances. Imported wallpaper does not need to be impregnated with glue. Under them the ceiling is simply smeared with glue, and then the wallpaper is easily applied. Bubbles that are formed during gluing are smoothed gently from the middle by a rubber roller.

Domestic wall papers are first glued with glue, and then glued to the ceiling. Impregnate wallpaper can not more than 10 minutes, with a longer infiltration, embossing can easily disperse and the wallpaper will eventually simply tear.

When gluing, a special adhesive for this purpose is used . If you select the glue correctly, the next time you change the wallpaper it will be enough just to pick up the old ones by the edge and pull a little, so they will fall off by themselves. The glue is washed off with warm water with the addition of soda.

It is necessary to glue the ceiling wallpaper in the same way as the usual wall panels - with the windows completely closed, because they are also afraid of drafts. Before the wallpapering, the wallpaper is cut into strips of certain sizes, there must always be an allowance, and stacked in the stack with the wrong side up. Stripes of wallpaper should be glued, following the direction of the incident light, so as not to create a shadow at the joints.

The glue is evenly and fairly densely applied to the surface of the canvas, starting from the middle. Completely blurred canvas carefully folds "accordion" so that along the entire length of it folds 30 cm wide. This canvas is left for a short while, so that it can be impregnated with glue.

Ceiling wallpaper begins to glue so: with one hand hold the "accordion", the other is applied to the ceiling of the upper side of the canvas. Press, align, smooth from the middle to the edges. So do with all the folds of the "accordion", while not forgetting to smooth the surface with a platen. Cloths fit exclusively into the joint.

In the place where there should be a chandelier, make a small cross-cut in order to avoid the slightest folds of wallpaper.

To the joints of the wall and the canvas were neat, along the corner between the wall and the ceiling, draw a line with the blunt side of the large scissors. Then, taking a slightly canvas, cut it off for this apparent bend.

That's all! Adhering to the described technique, you can easily paste wallpaper wallpaper yourself!
