Gracious Crimea: winery "Massandra" and other unique wineries
World-famous factories of Crimean wines are located on the coast of the peninsula. Most of them are concentrated between Sevastopol and Feodosiya. Wine here began to produce even in antiquity. On an industrial way have passed more than 150 years ago.
Russian "Champagne"

Meet the "Sun Valley"
Since 1888, the winery estate of Prince Gorchakov called "Arhaderesse" becomes the winery "Sunny Valley". It is administered by the wine-prince Lev Golitsyn, the founder of Russian winemaking and viticulture. Under his personal leadership were laid the famous plantations in the Kozskaya Valley. For the wine factory "Solnechnaya Dolina" (Crimea), except for the grapes of Kokur, Tashly, Sary-Pandas, new vines of European varieties were planted: Sarsial, Riesling, Sauvignon, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Saperavi and Cabernet.
By the spring of 1893, under the leadership of Lev Golitsyn, a huge cellar for ripening and storing wine was cut in the rocky slope of Delikly-Kaya .
By the beginning of the twentieth century, the plant had become neglected, and the vineyards had degenerated, and only by the 50s of the last century did the slow restoration of grape plantations (especially autochthonous varieties) and wine production began.
Today the plant at the "Solnechnaya Dolina" state farm (Crimea) is one of the best wineries in the peninsula. And the drinks "Black Colonel" and "Black Doctor" are the visiting card of the plant.
Export champagne wines of the peninsula
There is a wine factory "Novy Svet" on the peninsula of Crimea. It is located in the village of the same name. The beginning of work of the enterprise is dated 1878 year. The aces of wine art make sparkling wines here: the driest, the driest, the brut and the dry.
The beginning of the production of champagne in Russia, too, was laid by Lev Golitsyn. Having purchased a mansion in the village of Novy Svet, the prince-winemaker built thorough roads, erected workshops for making wine, premises for workers and tunnels in the rocks for ripening and storing noble drinks. Then he proceeded to experiments on the production of sparkling wine. The result of a ten-year development was the champagne "Paradise". Next came the "New World" and "Coronation".
Particularly successful is the party of sparkling wine (60,000 bottles) produced in 1899. In France, this year's champagne was awarded the highest international recognition - the Grand Prix.
Modern History
Sparkling wines of the new-world manufacture are proud of the won gold (five) and silver (ten) awards, brought from the competitions of the international class.
Germany is the main exporter of the wines of the association "New World".
Homecoming
Since the Crimea returned to Russia, the "New World" wine factory is being restored, it has a lot of new traditions. One of them is excursions to famous cellars, production workshops and a museum with mandatory sampling.

The meeting takes place in the most beautiful hall for tastings.
There is a sightseeing destination for history lovers. Its main point is endless tunnels for maintaining champagne wines. The program includes a mandatory visit to the enoteca, which stores unique samples (some of them more than 100 years old). The tour ends with a breakdown of six brands of sparkling wines and champagne. While there is a tasting, the guides tell the historical facts connected with the appearance of champagne as a drink and a house of wine "New World".
The winery "Novyi Svet" offers an interesting, informative tour of the production halls. The most intriguing part is the technological operation of disgorging. This is the first procedure for the production of champagne. In the end - mandatory tasting. Children do not take this excursion.
