Folding interior doors - beauty and space saving

In modern small-sized apartments in order to save space, the doors between the rooms are made folding. They are shifting when opening or closing along the wall of the panel. Folding interior doors are an alternative to classic swinging structures. During the opening of the leaflets, the number of which varies from one to several, their movement along the guides is carried out. In addition to saving space, the advantages are quality, functionality and mobility. They can easily be used as a screen-partition or a room separator into several zones.

Folding interior doors, like any other, not only divide the space, but also form an integral part of the interior of the house or apartment, office and any other premises. The choice of design must be carried out no less carefully than buying furniture or wallpaper.

The main criteria for choosing folding interior doors

First of all, this is the choice of material. There are two large groups: from natural wood and from substitutes such as MDF. The product, which has a more solid and attractive appearance, will be made of wood, but its price is much higher than that of substitutes.

The use of MDF-constructions is not inferior in terms of aesthetic appearance to expensive analogues, besides they can be decorated with glass and accessories.

Folding doors-accordion combine the sashes and shutters. In their design includes a rail, located horizontally (you need to move the roller on it) and strong plates (lamellas). The assembly and fixing of such products is similar to the installation of blinds. Similar systems are made from panels of PVC, MDF and any sorts of wood. When opening the leaflets, the panels are assembled against the wall by an accordion.

This type of folding interior doors can be installed in the kitchen, dining room, office or library. They do not usually stand long, but high-quality fittings can increase the service life. Hinges, spring mechanisms should only be of high quality. A variety of color solutions and imitation of natural materials allow their installation in any interior, while you can realize the reality of designer delights.

Another type of similar construction is a folding door book or screen. They have two leaves, differ more reliable and simple, but somewhat heavy construction. The width of the panels is much larger, the connecting loops are made more powerful. With their help, you can divide the room into two parts. Such a design fits seamlessly into any interior of modern houses.

As materials for their manufacture, wood, PVC, MDF are used. The cost and "accordion", and "books" are about the same. Sections of different widths look very original. When you make them, you can use the same materials as for conventional doors. However, manufacturers to reduce the load on the rollers make them easier to weigh. Often, as the main materials are used glass or plastic: in this case, design solutions allow you to visually enlarge a small room.

Disadvantages:

- Short service life. It is desirable to install them in places of infrequent use.

- Require more careful handling.

- Temperature changes can adversely affect the canvases. They can skew and jam during operation.
