False russula: features and characteristics

In our forests there are few such fungi to which mushroom pickers would be treated with slight disdain. But russules are included in their number. But this is very strange, because of its taste and nutritional properties, these "outcasts" are very good, and in lean years, they can become a real salvage of mushroom pickers.

Unfortunately, even these ordinary, but very useful representatives of the mushroom tribe have a dark side. This is a false russula, which, when consumed, can deliver a whole bunch of problems to consumers.

In this article, we list all the signs, focusing on which, you can easily identify these malicious twins. Just note that the false russula is extremely "multifaceted," since under this name several types of them are hidden at once. And the differences between some of them are so insignificant that only a mycologist with experience can distinguish between them. And then, if at hand he will have a laboratory with all the necessary equipment.

It should be noted that in principle, russules make up to 45% of the entire fungal mass of our forests, so the rules for their collection must be remembered very well. It is best to take those of them whose cap does not contain a trace of red and dark purple flowers. If you saw such mushrooms, then almost certainly you have a false russula.

So, the burning-caustic variety has just the hat of the sated red color. The fungus's flesh is extremely brittle and slightly reddish at the break. With regard to the virulence of the opinions of scientists are divided.

The separation of views is due to the fact that after a long digestion with several changes of water this false russule becomes edible, and in other cases you still can not eat it because of an extremely bitter taste.

The same can be said about the bloody-red variety of them. Its appearance can be judged by its name. Pulp is white, slightly reddish at the very hat. By taste characteristics is almost the same as above.

The bile rush is generally similar in taste to the substance that gave it the name. By the way, in autumn it is very much in coniferous forests. Its color is ocher-red or ochristo-yellow. It is easy to distinguish, if it was raining recently in the forest: when wet, its hat becomes mucous, which is not typical for russules.

The swampy look in this "bad company" did absolutely not come at all. A distinctive feature is a blood-red hat, the skin with which is removed with great difficulty. You can meet it both in swamps and in pine forests covered with sphagnum. It is very often referred to as false varieties, but in vain, since it tastes just like taste.

In a word, you could already notice that the russules are false do not refer to poisonous fungi in the full sense of the word. Their use in large quantities is simply impossible physically, and a small portion, which, though it will spoil your mushroom dish, harm your health will not do any.

In the end, it is difficult to make a mistake when choosing them: break off a small piece of flesh pulp. If you have a false russula (photos of which are in the article) in your hands, then you will learn about it immediately.
