The plot is interesting already because it is based on real events. This story occurred in the spring of 1996 in the Himalayas. Three expeditions, organized by commercial structures, simultaneously decided to conquer Mount Everest nearly nine thousand meters in height. These expeditions included experienced athletes, but there were also ordinary tourists.

Up three teams got almost no problems. But during the descent the weather conditions deteriorated. Five people died during the strongest snowstorm. Another three rescued Anatoly Bukreev - Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, a professional mountaineer. However, it was in real life. And in the film, the main intrigue is based on whether the travelers will be able to return home, and who among them will remain forever among the snows of the mountain peaks?
